    4th Jobs and New Systems

    •  It's happening 4th Jobs have been implemented.
      • Max level (200/70 or 200/60 for Summoners) characters can now talk to the Job Master and change into 4th job.
        • Class change quests for all classes (except for Sky Emperor and Soul Ascetic) have also been implemented.
          • If you happen to have access to these classes or know someone who does, please reach out!
      • Activity Points:
        • 4th Jobs gain access to a third resource bar, called Activity Points (AP). Selected new skills generate AP while other, generally more powerful skills, consume it.
        • Dying resets AP to 0 and, unlike HP or SP, it does not regenerate passively nor is recovered through the Healer.
      • Trait System:
        • Leveling past base level 200 will no longer grant Status points, but rather Trait points, listed under Characteristics Status in the Status menu (Alt+A). Every level increase grants 3 Trait points, with every 5 levels granting 7.
          • POW grants 5 Status Physical Attack per point and 1 P.ATK every 3 points.
          • STA grants 1 RES per point and 5 RES every 3 points.
          • WIS grants 1 MRES per point and 5 MRES every 3 points.
          • SPL grants 5 Status Magic Attack per point and 1 S.MATK every 3 points.
          • CON grants 2 HIT and 2 FLEE per point, and 1 P.ATK and S.MATK every 5 points.
          • CRT grants 1 H.PLUS per point and 1 C.RATE every 3 points.
        • Sub-Trait stats:
          • P.ATK increases final status physical attack and final equipment attack by 1% per point.
          • S.MATK increases final status magic attack and final equipment magic attack by 1% per point.

          • RES reduces physical damage taken, capping at 50%.

          • MRES reduces magical damage taken, capping at 50%.

          • H.PLUS increases heal power by 1% per point.

          • C.RATE increases critical damage percent modifier by 1% per point.

    • Implemented five new dungeons:
      • Waste Disposal Plant Rudus F4 (sp_rudus4), level required: 200. Start at Yulma (pub_cat,94,43).
      • Abandoned Lab Amicitia F1 (amicitia1), level required: 215. Start at Lana (ein_fild08,158,96).
      • Abandoned Lab Amicitia F2 (amicitia2), level required: 230
      • Dead Man's Banquet Hall (nif_dun01), level required: 200. Start at the portal in Nif (niflheim,149,124).
      • Collapsed Opera House (nif_dun02), level required: 240
        • All monsters from the maps above drop Etel Dust, a new refinement and grading catalyst, at around a ~3% rate.
    • Implemented the Grading System:
      • Grading allows you to further increase the power of equipment, by granting special Grade bonuses, as well as increasing their refine bonus attack, up to 100% more at Grade A. Grading is only available to Level 5 weapons and Level 2 armors.
      • To Grade your equipment, head over to Suribell at the rightmost room in the Eden Market (paramk,34,184), or Sratos at the Grade Room (grademk,34,184) in Prontera (prontera,50,290). They will also sell any catalysts used during the process.
      • Grading follows a linear pattern, from No Grade > Grade D > Grade C > Grade B > Grade A. To start, your equipment must be refined to at least +11. A Graded equipment will grant all bonuses listed under that Grade, as well as any bonuses from earlier Grades.
      • When equipment is successfully Graded, its refine will be reset to +0. Cards, Random options and other enchants are kept and won't be lost. This process can be repeated until Grade A, the maximum current grading obtainable.
      • Success chances can be increased by 1%, up to ten times, by using Blessed Etel Dust.
      • Base success chances and costs:
        • No Grade > Grade D
          • Regular option: 1 Etel Aquamarine, 70% success chance, equipment is damaged on failure.
          • Safe option: 5 Etel Aquamarine, 70% success chance, only catalysts are lost on failure.
          • Blessed Etel Dust required to +1%: 1 per 1% (10 for the max bonus of +10%)
          • Repair cost: 7 Etel Aquamarine
        • Grade D > Grade C
          • Regular option: 1 Etel Topaz, 60% success chance, equipment is damaged on failure.
          • Safe option: 5 Etel Topaz, 60% success chance, only catalysts are lost on failure.
          • Blessed Etel Dust required to +1%: 3 per 1% (30 for the max bonus of +10%)
          • Repair cost: 7 Etel Topaz
        • Grade C > Grade B
          • Regular option: 1 Etel Amethyst, 50% success chance, equipment is damaged on failure.
          • Safe option: 5 Etel Amethyst, 50% success chance, only catalysts are lost on failure.
          • Blessed Etel Dust required to +1%: 5 per 1% (50 for the max bonus of +10%)
          • Repair cost: 7 Etel Amethyst
        • Grade B > Grade A
          • Regular option: 2 Etel Amber, 40% success chance, equipment is damaged on failure.
          • Safe option: 10 Etel Amber, 40% success chance, only catalysts are lost on failure.
          • Blessed Etel Dust required to +1%: 7 per 1% (70 for the max bonus of +10%)
          • Repair cost: 14 Etel Amber
        • The repairing process of damaged equipment can be done in any NPC that repairs equipment, such as Kafras and Basta.
    • Changes to the refinement system:
      • Blacksmith's Blessings can now be used starting from +3, up to +14 (previously +4 to +12).
        • Developer's Note: As expected, they will also work as usual for level 5 Weapons and Level 2 Armors.
      • Dietrich (prt_in,63,69) now sells new ores designed for level 5 Weapons and Level 2 Armor refining. All recipes require their 'old ore' counterparts in addition of Etel Dust.
        • For example, a single Etherdeocon will require you to bring an Oridecon and Etel Dust.
        • Developer's Note: While regular ores will keep their official recipe, Enriched-type ores are more subject to harsher market price variations. Considering this and how players will be incentivized to go through the earlier stages of the refinement process multiple times, thanks to the new Grading system explained previously, any recipes that require Enriched-type ores will grant 3 new ores instead of the usual one.
      • The refinement table has been updated to include the new ores.

        • Tables for shadow gear, armors, and level 1/2/3/4 weapons will remain unchanged.
    • Item Reforming.
      • Implemented the Item Reform UI.
        • Developer's Note: The official implementation for Item Reforming relies on an old system, where mobs of higher level maps and MVPs had Shadowdecon, Zelunium and their respective ores added to their drop pools. At the time, we've decided to skip this system as it was only being used as an alternative method of obtainment for Shadow Gears and Cash Shop items, such as the ones we see today in the Endeavor Token shop, Monster Hunter and many other systems.
        • As we have no plans of implementing those systems, and with Shadowdecon in particular being used in quite literally all Item Reform recipes in the form of Enhancement Stones, these have been replaced by content-specific catalysts. As an example, to Item Reform headgears obtained through Endeavor Tokens, they will now use Endeavor Tokens as part of their recipe and Hero -LT weapons will use loot obtained through Ancient Juperos' new dungeon.
      • Implemented Item Reforms recipes for the following items:

    Inflation and Economy

    • Developer's Note: Over the past few months, we've noticed inflation has reached a place where it has been affecting players more drastically. In our efforts to keep things accessible for all, paired with the overall stable economy, we've done little over the years to address this.
      As it stands, we're in a position now where we feel we should step in in order to create a better market situation. We hope you understand why we felt the need to apply these changes, and we're optimistic that, over time, they will improve things drastically.
      Of course, we'll continue to keep a close eye on things and adjust further if we feel the need to.
    • Vending tax has been increased from 3% to 5%.
    • All items had their buy (and therefore, sell) price reduced in 25%.
      • As an example, buying a Seed of Life costed 60,000z (45,600z with Discount), where now it costs 45,000z by default (34,200 with Discount). Selling a Crimson weapon used to net you 35,000z (43,400 with Overcharge), where now it sells for 26,250z (or 32,550 with Overcharge).
      • This same logic applies to all items that have a sell value above 10z.
    • 17 Carat Diamonds changes:
      • Developer's Note: These changes aim to target using 17 Carat Diamonds for trading, while keeping the functionality without downsides if being used for storaging high zeny amounts.
      • Existing 17 Carat Diamonds are now called 24 Carat Diamonds.
      • 24 Carat Diamonds can be bought and sold to the Rare Diamond Merchant without any fees.
        • As they're designed for zeny storage only, 24 Carat Diamonds are Account Bound.
      • 17 Carat Diamond fee has been increased to 6,000,000z (for a total of 12,000,000z when Zeny -> Diamond -> Zeny)
    • Storage pricing changes:
      • Primary, Secondary, Premium and Hunter Storage now cost 2z per level after base level 100, from 200z at level 100 up to 500z at level 250.
        • Opening these storages while below base level 100 will cost 40z instead.
      • Guild Storage now costs a flat fee of 1,000z.
      • Currency Wallet, Character Storage, Event Storage and Card Storage will remain free of charge.
      • Kafra Card will allow you to open any storage without paying its cost.
    • Warper pricing changes:
      • Using the Warper now costs 10z per level after base level 100, from 1,000z at level 100 to 2,500z at level 250.
        • The Warper remains free of charge for any character below base level 100.
    • Item Repair fee has been increased from 5,000 to 10,000 zeny.
    • Nutritionist pricing changes:
      • All catalogue recipes had their price increased to 75,000z (previously 50,000z).

     

    Ancient Juperos

    • Implemented the third field of Ancient Juperos, Ancient Factory Site.
      • Level requirement: 240
      • Start of the quest: Guard (jup_fild02,52,21).
      • All monsters will drop the following new items:
        • Hero Enhancement Stone, at 10%.
        • Etel Dust, at 3.2%.
    • Patent weapons can now be Reformed into -LT variants. Vincent (jup_cave,193,216) now sells Reform Boxes and -LT enchants.

As an example, this means that a level 250 Dragon Knight will have its level 200 Rune Knight base HP/SP tables, a handful of statuses and skills disabled and their Traits nullified and level scaling for skills capping at 200.
      • Initially we had planned to completely disable all abilities and effects, but felt that having an environment which restricted people from playing their new builds that they converted into with the new class advancement wasn't ideal, which led us to covering only the potentially concerning effects as a better approach. We'll continue to iterate on these changes and, in the future, we expect to re-enable as many abilities and effects as possible in a way more appropriate for MH, such as the Soul Ascetic's Talisman of Five Elements.

    The vending tax is quite simple to avoid really, just make a normal trade and done. This tax majorly affects people that sold item packs like Potions, Materials and alike, the 700m+ gear are just going to be "normal traded" like it always was anyway.

    hey,i want to ask update said refinement system for that category will not be changed,but when i try refine my level 1 armor from +10  to +11 it's downgrade by 1 with HD Carnium,i believe before update that eq will just become damaged/fail to refine.what's happen?

    This has now been fixed. Refining was refactored so that was an unintended change that fell through the cracks.

    Yea, from what i can observed over the pre-3rd and post 3rd is the massive shift of strat and tactics. the things that were used to be effective on pre-3rd job were ineffective anymore. i didnt experience that shift first hand but i can imagine how painful it is for the people who plays during that time so i kinda understand the sentiment of people hating renewal xD

    but yea, i might wait out for gravity to revised woe before me going back again. 3rd job already painful to play on woe and 4th is....xD (wild wild west style)

    First thing first - ingame inflation does not work as IRL inflation. IRL, we cant print money (= sell loot created from thin air) for infinite amount of money (also magically created created from thin air).     Whales does not care and sellers try to get net price +/- the same as before by increasing price (there is not a single reason why they should not.     You need REAL money sink, something of quality or luxury for high price for whales to sink money to - for example something like Blacksmith Blessing for 50m zeny (not some token, but good old zeny + it have to be really expensive, so no one is going to use it for something not worth it).

     

    Or some luxuries, idk, like leasing prontera castle / prontera inn for zeny... Or just do NFT for zeny and then pull the rug /gg

    Agree to disagree. As we've mentioned elsewhere a number of times now, we will be closely monitoring how these changes affect things and are unlikely to do further changes until we allow a proper period of time to see how things settle.

     

    You also have many flaws in your arguments, even if people raise the price of the items in their shops, that will still result in a larger amount of zeny being burned. And that's the first extremely obvious one that came to mind.

    That said, I'm unlikely to engage further in conversations regarding our inflation-reduction changes in this patch note. If you or anyone else wants to talk about it further, I suggest making a separate forum thread.

    Concerning the inflation solution, selling and buying from NPC solution, is more a punishment for newcomers/newbies tbh. 

     

    I can see how you want to attack the zeny creation, but let's be real, very rich people who have dozen or more carat in kafra doesn't sell anything to npc to make money (they mostly don't even loot things). They do mostly high end instance/MH, sell high end gears, high refine gears, etc. 

     

    The carat tax was a good tackle though.

     

    Most zeny creators are newbies/newcomers/mid entry gamers, there are a few hardcore grinder indeed but making a 25% decrease from original selling price is a big hit for entry and mid level players.

     

    Imo, it would be better act on high end level with expensive stuff/buff (without being too OP) which would be appealing for high end players. It's gonna sink the money, if there are interesting stuff. 
     

    Buffs such as combat ration, mega orleans or X consummable which are usually used from high end players. Or gears lent for a day.

     

     

    Other than that, refining level 5 weapon doesn't count for weekly quest, is it intended ? 

    Moreover, whitesmith skill for refining weapon doesn't work for level 5, is it intended also ? It might be a bug, so we will have to report it because the window pop up to refine but can't despite having the right ore.

    20 + (20/3 x 5) = 53.3333
