    Faceworm's Nest [Hard]

    •  New Feature Implemented a new instance: Faceworm's Nest [Hard]
    • To start, speak to Chaos, at dali,81,65 (Warper -> Heroes Trails -> Faceworm's Nest). The instance has no cooldown, and you can freely reenter at any time, and requires you to be in a party (maximum of 8 players), and be at least level 180.

    • The instance awards 20 Shard of Earth to each party member.

    • Faceworm's Nest [Hard] introduces 44 distinct pieces of Shadow Gear (Listed below), 3 exclusive costumes and 11 new pet eggs.

    Monster Hunting

    • Shadow Gear (any) can no longer be stored on the Hunter's Chest.
      • Developer's Note: Previously added Shadow Gears can still be removed without issues, but will not be able to be readded.
    • Re-worked the bonuses gained from Temperaments when a Great Monster becomes Enraged.
    • Re-worked the Dynamic Damage Adjustment (DDA) thresholds in preparation for Angnar.
      • Developer's Note: Our first implementation of DDA, which you have been playing with for a while now was quite cautious. This was done so that we could monitor how players interact with the system and to avoid a sudden harsh transition from non-DDA to DDA.
      • We've now had time to digest and interpret the data we have collected during this time and have decided to alter the thresholds for DDA. This means DDA will take effect earlier and more gradually. We suspect more players will now notice DDA, but it should not present a substantial impact on the great majority of players.
      • We will continue to monitor how DDA effects everyone's runs and, as always, we welcome any feedback you have.
    •  Community Suggestion Soul Reapers are now given 20 Spirit Balls when entering and upon resurrection in MH.
    •  Bug Fix Fixed a critical bug that spontaneously stopped the Great Monster's AI.
    •  Bug Fix Soul Breaker can now critical hit in MH.
    •  Bug Fix Fixed an issue where EDP did not increase damage as much as it should have.
    •  Bug Fix Corrected Eske's cooldown to 28s.

    Siege and PvP

    •  Announcement You can read more about the reasoning behind some of these changes in our PVP Diary #2. Keep in mind, any new gears implemented in this patch are disabled until further notice.
    • General Changes
      • Siege resistance has been raised to 90% in all Siege game modes.
      • WoE's Proximity Resistance has been removed.
      •  Community Suggestion King of Emperium has been disabled in preparation for WoE 2.
        • Developer's Note: We do plan to revisit and potentially revamp KoE in the future to better fit it as a weekday event.
      •  Community Suggestion KvM runtime reduced from 3:30 to 2:30.
    • Item Changes
      • Golden Thief Bug Card’s magic damage immunity no longer grants status or dispel immunity in Siege content.
        • Developer's Note: In the future, an alternate Siege-only GTB card will be added that grants status/dispel immunity but not magic damage immunity. GTB card owners will be able to freely swap between both versions using an NPC. This will be implemented together with a rework of the MVP Tier system.
      • Added a box containing rental versions of MVP-carded gear to the Sketchy Dealer.
        • This shop will be updated with more additions in the future.
        • Developer's Note: Some items contained in the box are not exact copies of their non-rental versions, so please make sure to carefully read the description before purchasing.
        • Available items:

        • There are no limitations to how many rental items can be purchased by a single player. However, these items count as MVP cards and are limited by the regular Tier rules.
        • The box and all rental items inside it are account bound.
      • Golden Syrup healing has been reduced by 25% in War of Emperium (now matches previous BG numbers).
        • Developer's Note: We're keeping an eye out and plan to further adjust the effectiveness of this item as the meta stabilizes.
      • A new set of PvP Shadow Gear, the Warlord’s Shadow Set, has been implemented.
        • This set includes a Shadow Mail and Shadow Shield, and grants up to 5% Player and Medium resist, and 5% Max HP.
        • The Shadow Gears and the respective Shadow Orb can be purchased directly from the Siege Merchant. A single piece of gear costs 2000 Siege Tokens, and a Shadow Orb costs 750 Siege Tokens.
        • Like other Shadow Gears, these items are unbound.
      •  Community Suggestion Added a Shadow Mail and Shadow Shield to the Recruit’s Set.
        • When combined, they grant 3% player resistance.
        • They can be claimed by selecting any Recruit’s Set from the Quartermaster.
      • Enabled the first batch of disabled gears:
        • Mutated White Knight and Khalitzburg Knight Cards.
        • Reload Shadow Set
        • Penetration and Tempest Shadow Accessories
        • All 2nd Class shadow gear
        • Super Novice Shadow Shield and Super Novice Shadow Gauntlet
        •  Community Suggestion All GHCM Weapons.
          • Developer's Note: We plan to continually enable as many disabled gears as we can as soon as we believe they will have a healthy place in the meta.
      • Altered Illusion Immaterial Sword on War of Emperium to match its BG behavior.
      • Battlegrounds Equipment Repair scroll now repairs all damaged items instead of a single one.

    • Skill Changes

      • Mystical amplification is now enabled in War of Emperium.

        • Comet damage has been reduced by 50% in War of Emperium. (matching their BG reductions)

        • Soul Expansion damage has been reduced by 66% in War of Emperium. (matching their BG reductions)

        • These reductions, with Mystical Amplification being enabled, mean damage is unchanged from the pre-patch values.

        • Developer's Note: We hope that this change will encourage greater build variety in Warlocks and diversify the elemental damage types in WoE. We expect individual skill numbers may need to be further adjusted and will make such changes as the meta develops.

      • Algiz Runestone no longer grants increased potion recovery (now grants only MDEF and Millenium Shield).

      • Hagalaz Runestone, Golem Soul and Echo Song no longer add Physical Defense.

        • Developer's Note: In practice, the DEF effect on these skills could act as a penalty, as it was either ignored (by Cart Cannon, Dragon Breath, Arm Cannon, Abusive Robe, etc) or pierced (by Thanatos Card or Ice Pick).

      • Removed BG-only skill damage nerfs:

        • Metallic Sound (From -25% to 0%)

        • Ignition Break (From -25% to 0%)

        • Storm Blast (From -25% to 0%)

          • Developer's Note: Note that, after the Siege reduction adjustment, these skills will still deal around 12% less damage than they did pre-patch.

      • Raised the damage of several skills in Battlegrounds to match their War of Emperium modifiers:

        • Gate of Hell (From +100% to +133%)

        • Freezing Spear (From +25% to +50%)

        • Diamond Dust, Varetyr Spear, Poison Buster, Psychic Wave and Earth Grave (From +75% to +100%)

        • Spell Fist (From +25% to +100%)

        • Developer's Note: These changes were applied live in a hotfix, and, considering that WoE and BG now have the same Siege resistance, we decided to maintain them.

      • Raised the damage of certain skills in War of Emperium to match their Battlegrounds modifiers:

        • Cluster Bomb damage increased by +100%

        • Kunai Explosion damage increased by +50%

      • Reduced the damage of Rhydo Runestone’s - Crush Strike in Battlegournds and WoE by 50% (previously 40% in BG only).

        • Developer's Note: Note that Crush Strike is not affected by the increase in Siege resistance, as it is considered an autoattack and not a skill.

      • Reject Sword's War of Emperium customization now also applies to BG, reducing the damage reflected.

      • Strip Armor, Weapon, Shield, and Helm skills disabled in Battlegrounds.

        • Developer's Note: Full Strip had previously been disabled in Battlegrounds, as it was a skill that saw no use in War of Emperium yet was oppressive inside BG. We believe that doing the same to these skills will be the most effective way to curb Shadow Chaser’s oppressiveness in the 90% Siege resist meta, while keeping the same playstyle they retain in WoE to allow players to practice.

      • Chaos status no longer affects stone/supply carriers in Battlegrounds.

      •  Bug Fix Fixed a bug where Cross Impact’s Siege damage reduction and Gate of Hell’s Siege damage increase were not being properly applied to structures. (Barricades/Guardian Stone/Training Chamber dummy)

    Why is Warlock, the most oppressive class in current meta, the most buffed class this patch? CL and CR have been top damage-dealers in recent woes - this 90% siege redux is undone by Amp and they are getting a damage buff on top of that from items enabled. Their damage has been increased on this patch that was supposed to reduce damage, I'm confused.
    edit: amp undoes the siege redux change for these skills, but then proximity was also removed, so CL and CR are doing an absurd amount more damage than they did pre-patch with proximity removed on top of the new items

    Why are extended jobs, which are struggling the most for relevance, excluded from/not compensated for this change?

    Why is crush strike being nerfed in WoE when crit RK has only been played <5 times in actual rosters in woe this year and only been page 1 once?

    Again, extended classes - Star Emperor has Union, and Rebel has 25% def pierce on Plat Alter, so this does not change anything for them. Why are these classes (already not played) not getting damage boosts to match those given to other classes relying on def pierce?

    For the Arrogant Automatic Leg B are only Spell Buster and Lucky Strike? Is it missing info for the fixed cast or does the rental item not have fixed cast enchant at all?

    Hi Hildeblue,

    To address your point about Warlock, our main goal here is to shift the meta towards the elemental skills and make it less Comet centric. Note that these numbers are just starting positions, and we are very open to nerfing these skills on the live server, without a maintenance, should that be required. This is what I meant when I said to expect some short term turmoil in the meta, but please be assured that I will monitor every WoE and respond rapidly.

     

    As for expanded jobs, I hope to share some exciting news for some of them next patch. Unfortunately there is only so much we can pack onto a single patch, but I have definitely not forgotten them.

     

    Lastly, about Crush Strike, the change is purely for standardization. You will notice that, with this maintenance, most skill differences between BG and WoE have been eliminated. In our opinion, this consistency is a key part of uncomplicating the Siege scene. However, note that this nerf is not as big as it seems, because CS is unaffected by the Siege increase. I believe it will still be able to secure one-shots, as it has already been doing in BG.

    Nice patch, a lot of good shadow gears being introduced and a new instance, glad to see it all!

    to the pvp scene, I think all the changes are headed in the right direction and I see many good changes already being made, looking forward to the woe2.
     

    But I have to point out that DB RK looks like a forgotten build atm, it was bad before and now it’s worse. While yes it got tgk armor and reload sg no guild will waste a tier 1 on it in Woe1 and BG can’t even wear it. Also we got a nerf in aegis so even its function as a lux bot is not as good anymore. I would like to point out that the cogh headgear still being unavailable is a surprise, why? The damage is awful. 
     

    I believe some points that could be looked at are the cogh headgear, Edda cards, 25% damage nerf to the skill, the ISS shield and the rune element to the skill being determined by the last rune used instead of being forced lux elements (neutral/shadow)

     

    Also, performers in BG are looking A LOT stronger with what was released and tank sorcs/FS genetics may become unkillabe, so some things to keep an eye out.
