Fishing is one of the three gathering activities that can be done on the Savage Coast.

Unlike its two counterparts, you can also fish outside of the island, next to any bed of water.

For Master Fishermen (Fishing Enchant level 3), the types of fish you encounter will change depending on the map type you fish in:

  • Fishing in The Savage Coast will result in a higher chance of finding Large Fish.
  • Fishing in Towns will result in a higher chance of finding Small Fish.
  • Fishing in Fields or Dungeons will result in an even split between Large and Small Fish.

Fishing Tasks

Tasks for Level 1 Fishing

Oscar, Fishing Instructor
  • To start fishing talk to Oscar, the Fishing Instructor.
  • He gives you a fishing rod, and the ability to start fishing (You now have level 1 fishing).

Tasks for Level 2 Fishing

Tasks for Level 3 Fishing

  • Fish 50 more times to get the next task.
  • Oscar tells you to defeat 2 Aqualings. This step takes a good amount of time to complete.
    • Aqualings spawn at low chance after catching a fish.
    • To defeat an Aqualing you must press "Interact" near it 4 times. Note that Aqualings will run away from you.
  • Talk to Oscar after completing the task. He gives you x5 of a 500 point fish of your choosing.
  • Talk to Oscar again, he tells you to catch 30 fish. (If you have 30 fish in your inventory you can talk to him right away {Unsure on specific type of fish})
  • After completing the task, Oscar gives you x3 of a 1000 point fish of your choosing.
  • Oscar asks you to bring him tonics. {Unknown how many tonics are needed, maybe x1 of each}
  • After completing the last task. Oscar gives you "Super Rod" (Level 3 Fishing). He also gives you x30 Tonics of your choosing.
  • You can now catch 1000 point fish

How to Fish

  • Talk to Oscar, the Fishing Instructor to get the fishing skill.
  • Use "Choose Bait" in your "Misc" tab of skills.
  • Stand near an area of water, and use "Interact" to cast a line.
  • When the bobber starts shaking spam the "Interact" skill, when the bobber stops moving, stop spamming "Interact".
  • Continue this until you catch a fish

Every Tonic has a 10 minute duration, and can only be used during High Rank Hunting missions.
