Overview

  • Guillotine Cross (GX for short) is the third job of the Assassin class. Guillotine Cross are a versatile class, being able to solo instances, act as support DPS in parties, and even tank with the right gears and stats, all in all GX is a highly versatile class. Though they can do both PvM and PvP, I will only be covering PvM in this guide.

  • Guillotine Cross is by far my most favorite class, I made one as my first character when I first started on NovaRO and continue to love it. I personally love how they can solo most instances, do amazing amounts of damage at fast speeds, and the fact that the more I play the class the more I learn about it and the mechanics of Ragnarok. If you enjoy playing solo, or at least farming instances solo, like I do, definitely try this class.

  • This guide has been tailored to fit NovaRO's Server. Some information won't carry over onto other servers.

  • I hope you find this guide helpful and have fun in your journey to poisoning, stabbing, and cutting the world.

135.png Cloaking
  • Allows movement while hiding.
  • Increased movement when next to walls.
  • Required for GX hiding skill.
407.png Create Deadly Poison
  • Allows you to create Poison Bottle .
  • This is one of the most important skills for GX to have.
  • The formula for crafting is;
    • [Success Rate = 20% + (0.4% * Dex) + (0.2% * Luk)].
    • The best way to set up 100% success rate is to reset your stats, and put 130 DEX, 124 LUK, and the rest on STR to carry the materials.
378.png Enchant Deadly Poison
  • This enchants your weapon with Poison Bottle .
  • Grants a huge bonus to damage, multiplies your Weapon ATK by 3.75, and your Equipment ATK by 3.

2021.png Venom Impress
  • Reduces a target's Poison resistance by up to 50%.
2024.png New Poison Research
  • Unlocks the "New-Poisons".
  • Gives you up to +30 seconds duration on New-Poisons and Poison Bottle

  • There is a table in the "Useful GX information" section that describes how to make and possibly use each poison.

Builds

Rolling Cutter GX

Rolling Cutter GX is the best build to play if you are new or have a low budget, it's even strong as an endgame instance and field farming build.

  • The goal of the build is to spam 2036.png Rolling Cutter until everything around you is dead, then move on to the next group of monsters, and repeat. Since you fight multiple monsters at once, you will take a lot of damage, that is why leech gears are used to sustain this build. Leech gears are things like Rideword Hat [1] and Thanatos Katar [1] , they return HP and SP to us as we deal damage. This allows us to farm almost forever, go into instances without a priest at our side, and fight most bosses forever as long as they don't one shot us.

  • It is best to start out with as much leech gear as possible, and then move to more After Cast Delay and Damage gears as you near the endgame.

  • It's good to note that 2036.png Rolling Cutter damage scales with your base level. That means that it will slowly get stronger as you level.
  • If you want an idea of how gear setups would look like, be it early or endgame, you can check below the Rolling Cutter gears, it includes a build for New/budget players as well to help you get started.

Your ping may affect the amount of spins you can do per second. Based on current information, you can lose around 2 spins per second with 300+ ping. Keep this in mind if you have a high ping.

To get the most out of Rolling Cutter you need:

  • 185 ASPD and 30% After Cast Delay for 5.8 spins per second.
  • 186 ASPD and 30% After Cast Delay for 6.6 spins per second.
  • 187 ASPD and 35% After Cast Delay for 7 spins per second.

This is a video comparing those ASPD's and ACD's

This is a short video on After Cast Delay

Pros
  • Strong area of effect damage
  • High survivability/tankiness
  • Very good at soloing instances
  • Best GX build for basic farming (Gefenia, Magma Dungeon 2, Juperos)
  • Relatively cheap to start building
  • Easily upgradeable, piece by piece while still working efficiently
Cons
  • Outclassed in parties by other DPS
  • Can have trouble hitting high Flee/Agi-Up MVPs
Stats

General Stats

STR: 120

  • You want high STR with this build since it adds quite a bit of damage due to the high base ATK of most katars.

AGI: ~90-110

  • You need enough AGI to reach 187 ASPD, AGI also increases your Cross Ripper Slasher damage.

VIT: ~80-100

  • You want 100 VIT in total (including bonuses) to be immune to stun.

INT: 1

  • INT is basically useless in this build.

DEX: 80-100

  • You'll need DEX to hit things.

LUK: ~30-70

  • LUK isn't really required for Rolling Cutter, but you can dump extra stat points here to get some Hit, Flee, and ATK.

Equipment

Rolling Cutter Gear

Item Slot Way to Obtain Notes
Rideword Hat [1] Upper Headgear Nova Shop, or Headgear Quest The best early game headgear for Rolling Cutter builds. Allows you to sustain yourself very well, get as soon as possible. This is even good in the endgame, you can use it to clear normal mobs, then switch to a DPS headgear for the MvP's.

Item Effects

  • Adds a 5% chance to leech 8% of your damage as HP with each attack.
  • Adds a 1% chance to leech 4% of your damage as SP with each attack.
  • At +9 or higher, doubles the amount of HP/SP restored. (Not the chance to leech)
Old Bone Circlet [1] Tomb of the Fallen Very strong headgear that boosts your Cross Ripper Slasher damage, and if your lucky you can enchant it with Mettle Enchant which can be upgraded further, most people will only get to level 5 enchant, which adds +15% Damage and +15 Hit. Which makes this headgear the best for DPS.

Item Effects

  • +1 to all stats
  • Every 1 refine, +1% Critical Damage
  • Every 1 refine, +1% ASPD
  • Every 2 refines, +1% Max HP
  • Every 2 refines, +1% Max SP
  • Every 2 refines, +10% 2022.png Cross Impact damage
  • Every 2 refines, +20% 2037.png Cross Ripper Slasher damage

Warning: This headgear can be pricey and time consuming to create and enchant, you will need to farm Bio 5 dungeon on a different class, as GX are not the most useful there, so they aren't often accepted into parties.

Ruff Officer [1] Master of Coin Pretty Strong headgear for DPS. In my opinion the second best, even if you don't use the Thanatos Katar [1] combo. Though the downside here is it need to be +9 to get a strong effect when not using the combo.

At +9 without a Thanatos Katar [1] this will give you +90 ATK, +5% ATK, and +1 ASPD.

If you are wearing this for the combo with Thanatos Katar [1] , try to keep your katar on an even refine to maximize your bonus ATK.

Item Effects

  • Every 2 refines, +15 ATK
  • At +7 or higher, +30 ATK
  • At +9 or higher, +5% ATK
  • At +9 or higher, +1 ASPD

Combos with Thanatos Katar [1]

Ancient Gold Ornament [1] Biolab Gears Quest An alright headgear for adding DPS, this can be shared between other classes too.

Item Effects

  • +2 to all stats
  • +8% ATK
Heart Wing Headband [1] Master of Coin A decent headgear that allows you to spam 2036.png Rolling Cutter faster. Getting +6 is usually best for budget reasons.

Item Effects

  • -5% After Cast Delay
  • -10% SP consumption from skills
  • Every 3 refines, -3% After Cast Delay
  • Every 3 refines, -3% SP constumption from skills
New Wave Sunglasses [0] Middle Headgear Headgear Quest Makes you spin faster, the best middle headgear for this build, highly suggest getting this as soon as you can.

Item Effects

  • -10% After Cast Delay
Angel Spirit [0] Nova Shop Nice middle headgear for DPS.

Item Effects

  • +2% ATK
  • +2% MATK
  • +2 STR
Monocle [1] Monster Drop This is slightly cheaper then other middle headgears, you use this for the slot when you need to use 2 Card Gemini-S58 Card.

You can use Spiritual Auger from the Cash Shop to slot a select amount of middle headgears.

(They are listed on the Spiritual Auger (It may not show up on divine-pride.net, so type "@ii Spiritual Auger" in game to see the applicable headgears)).

Blood Sucker [0] Lower Headgear Nova Shop A pretty expensive HP leech item, but definitely worth it when you can afford it. (Contained in the Lower Hat Box in the Nova Shop).

Item Effects

  • Gives a 3% chance to leech 5% of your damage as HP
  • Disables natural HP and SP recovery
Magical Rosary in Mouth (Awakened) [0] Start the awakening quest @navi hu_in01 148 237 Best lower headgear if you want pure stats.

Item Effects

  • +2 to all stats
  • +2 Perfect Dodge
Rosary in Mouth [0] Creating the item quest @navi moc_fild19 26 32 A decent lower headgear that adds a few effects.

Item Effects

  • +1 to all stats
  • +5 ATK
  • +5 MATK
  • +2 Mdef
Gangster Scarf [0] Cash Shop, or Headgear Quest The cheapest lower headgear because you can craft it with a quest.

Item Effects

  • +5 ATK
Toy Syringe [0] Creating the item quest @navi cmd_fild02 88 96 You can switch to this when you need to use Condensed White Potions for healing.

Item Effects

Well-Chewed Pencil [0] Nova Shop This helps a lot if your having a hard time hitting high Flee monsters/MVPs.

Item Effects

  • +2 DEX
  • +3% Hit
illusion Armor A-Type [1] Armor illusion Questline The best standalone armor for RC and the best set for monsters under around 200-300 Def (NOT CONFIRMED NUMBERS YET, currently testing) which is most monsters. Can be enchanted as well.

Warning: once you put an enchantment on, it can NOT be taken off

The best enchantments for this are;

Item Effects

  • +100 ATK
  • Every 2 refines, +10 ATK
  • At +7 or higher, +10% ASPD

Combos with illusion Engine Wing B-Type [1]

  • -10% After Cast Delay

Combos with illusion Leg A-Type [1]

  • +5% ATK
YSF01 Plate [1] Werner's Laboratory A very strong set for RC builds, this is best to be worn with the full set. This armor does require 125 base STR for some of its ATK%, so it's recommended to be level 182-185 before you start using this (or at least the 125 base STR bonus).

Item Effects

  • If base STR is 125 or higher, for every 1 refine, +1% ATK
  • At +5 or higher, +5% ATK
  • At +7 or higher, +2% ATK
  • At +9 or higher, +4% ATK

Combos with YSF01 Greaves [1]

Combos with YSF01 Manteau [1]

Combos with YSF01 Manteau [1] and YSF01 Greaves [1]

  • If the combined refinement of the set is +27 or higher, +5% chance when dealing physical damage to ingore 100% of monster defense for 5 seconds.
Lava Leather Armor [1] Magma Dungeon 3 This is a strong set that gives a good mix of defense and offensive buffs.

Item Effects

  • +100 ATK
  • At +7 or higher, +100 DEF
  • At +9 or higher, +50 DEF

Combos with Lava Leather Manteau [1] , and Lava Leather Boots [1]

  • +2% ATK
  • If each gear is refined to +7 or higher, it gives +3% ATK
  • If the sum of their refines is 27 or higher, you get -20% After Cast Delay.
Excellion Suit [0] Charleston Crisis This is the cheapest After Cast Delay armor set for this build, highly suggested that new and budget players get this combo as soon as possible, it's even good to use at +0.

This armor is enchantable, beware though you can only have one of some of the enchants and you CAN NOT reset the enchants, once its on there its stuck there.

For your Excellion Suit enchants I suggest the following:

If you want some elemental resists, you can also use one of these in place of one Attack Supplement Blueprint .

Or for some more Def;

Item Effects

  • +6 VIT
  • If base level 130 or higher, +4 VIT
  • If base level 130 or higher, for every 3 refines, +4% Max HP

Combos with Excellion Wing [0]

  • -10% After Cast Delay
  • If base level 130 or higher, -10% After Cast Delay
  • +6 Perfect Dodge
Hero Hidden Cloth [1] Morse's Cave, and Bios Island Strong standalone armor, but you should make sure you have enough After Cast Delay.

Item Effects

  • +5% Max HP
  • +5% Max SP
  • +10% 2022.png Cross Impact damage
  • +10% 2037.png Cross Ripper Slasher damage
  • Chance when dealing physical damage to add the following for 10 seconds;
    • +20 Critical Rate
    • +20 Flee
    • +10% ATK
    • +10% MATK
Armor of Airship [0] Airship Assault Cheapest armor for new players.

Item Effects

  • +1 to all stats
  • +1000 Max HP
  • +100 Max SP

Combos with Manteau of Airship [1] , and Boots of Airship [0]

  • +25% Max HP
  • +25% Max SP
  • +10 Mdef
  • Increased movement speed
Juliette D Rachel [2] Weapon Sky Fortress This is the best endgame weapon at the moment, due to its really high base ATK (300). This lets it outclass basically any other option for the weapon slot.

You can also enchant this here. I recommend using A class coins to enchant since its more budget friendly at the cost of slighty worse enchants. But if you can afford to use Sea Gods Anger then use that.

The enchants to aim for are Fighting Spirit for more ATK, or Expert Archer for Cross Ripper Slasher damage.

Item Effects

  • Every 2 refines, +1% ATK
  • Every 2 refines, +1% ASPD
  • Cannot be destroyed in battle
Thanatos Katar [1] Ghost Palace This is the best katar for a leveling or new GX, since its leech effects keep you alive.

This is also good in the late game if you can get one with high refines (+10 or higher) and combo it with Ruff Officer [1] .

Can be enchanted outside of Ghost Palace for 75 Gray Shard . Aim for No Weapon Size Penalty for the first enchant. This enchant will increases your damage by quite a bit (not 100% accurate, but as a general number its about 25%), this enchant lets this katar be the second best DPS option.

And Boss monster damage for the second enchant if you can.

Item Effects

  • +6 VIT
  • +6 INT
  • -6 LUK
  • Adds a 5% chance to leech 5% of your damage as HP
  • Adds a 1% chance to leech 5% of your damage as SP

Combos with Ruff Officer [1]

Vicious Mind Katar [1] Sky Fortress Similar to Crimson Katar [2] with their ATK bonus, these can be strong weapons. But Thanatos Katar [1] and Juliette D Rachel [2] will usually be stronger.

These only have one slot, but are better than Crimson Katar [2] since they are level 4 weapons and can be enchanted.

Enchanting info can be found here. Note that you can re-enchant these, so you can obtain different enchantments.

For each enchant aim for:

  • First slot No size penalty, this enchant is very strong, the same way it is on Thanatos Katar [1] .
  • Second slot Increase 20% damage on boss monsters, this enchant is will help damage on boss monsters, not as important as the first enchant, but more important than the third.
  • Third slot +50 ATK, this is the least important enchant best to just use whatever you get here.

Item Effects

  • +X ATK (X = Refinement * Refinement)
Crimson Katar [2] Monster Drop Strong weapon with a large ATK bonus based on refinement. Note that Thanatos Katar [1] and Juliette D Rachel [2] will usually be stronger.

Don't bother getting one of these unless its +10 - +15. These also drop with a random element.

Item Effects

  • +X ATK (X = Refinement * Refinement)
  • For every 10 levels above level 70, +5 ATK
Eden Katar [0] Eden Quests Free katar for doing some easy Eden quests. Get this if you are new, or have a real tight budget. It can also be enchanted by completing further Eden quests.

Item Effects

  • Cannot be refined
illusion Engine Wing B-Type [1] Garment illusion Questline A very strong garment, combos with the illusion set, this piece is more for defensive enchantments in this build.

Warning: once you put an enchantment on, it can NOT be taken off

For enchanting this I recommend;

But you can also opt for;

Combos with illusion Armor A-Type [1]

  • -10% After Cast Delay

Combos with illusion Leg A-Type [1]

  • +5% Ranged Damage
YSF01 Manteau [1] Werner's Laboratory A very nice manteau that gives very high After Cast Delay, expecially combo'd with YSF01 Plate [1] .

Excellion Wing [0] Charleston Crisis This is the second part to the Excellion gear combo for the -20% cast delay. It can be enchanted using most of the same enchantments as Excellion Suit.

I recommend;

Item Effects

  • +8 Perfect Dodge
  • If base level 130 or higher, +2 Perfect Dodge
  • Every 1 refine. +2 Flee

Combos with Excellion Suit

  • -10% After Cast Delay
  • If base level 130 or higher, -10% After Cast Delay
  • +6 Perfect Dodge
Giant Snake Skin [1] Faceworm Nest Relatively cheap and effective garment for starting out. Use this until you can afford Excellion Wing [0] .

These drop with a random refinement and random enchants.

Aim for STR and/or AGI enchants.

Item Effects

  • +10 Mdef

Combos with Temporal Boots of Str [1]

  • +15% Max HP
  • +5% Max SP
Physical Heroic Cape [1] Inside Prontera Castle (@navi prt_cas,76,308) This is a good garment for those that want to explore unique gear setups. This is only good at +9 or higher for the After Cast Delay.

This can be enchanted with two enchantments at the same NPC you buy it from. For the first enchant, aim for;

  • -3% After Cast Delay

On the second enchant aim for increased damage against Demon or Undead monsters.

  • +20 Flee
  • -20% Variable Cast Time
  • Cannot be refined
illusion Leg A-Type [1] Footgear illusion Questline The best footgear for RC because of the enchantments, which are similar to Temporal Boots of Str [1] but these have longer duration and the STR enchant procs on attacking instead of being attacked.

Warning: once you put an enchantment on, it can NOT be taken off

The recommended enchantments for this are;

Item Effects

  • +200 Max SP
  • Every 2 refines, +20 Max SP
  • At +7 or higher, +5% Ranged Damage

Combos with illusion Armor A-Type [1]

  • +5% ATK

illusion Engine Wing B-Type [1]

  • +5% Ranged Damage
YSF01 Greaves [1] Werner's Laboratory Gives nice ASPD and some Critical Damage but we don't care about that, we wear this for the set combo.

  • Every 3 refines, +100 Max HP
  • Every 3 refines, +10 Max SP
  • Every 3 refines, +7 ATK
  • If base STR is 120 or higher, +50 ATK

These can be enchanted here. For the first enchant ASPD% is usually best. But if you can manage 187 ASPD without it Fighting Spirit might do you better.

For the second enchant aim for Bear's Might, Lucky Day, Speed of Light, or Hawk Eye.

Lucky Day

Best all around enchant, gives a little bit of everything. At the moment I'd say this is the best enchant for this build. There is a 1.5% chance when dealing or receiving physical damage to activate.

Enchant Effects

  • +200 LUK

Which gives:

  • +66 ATK
  • +66 Hit
  • +40 Flee
  • +20 Perfect Dodge

Bear's Might

This is a strong enchant for dealing high DPS for a short period, but the downside to this is the low activation chance. This only activates at a low chance when you take damage.

Enchant Effects

  • +200 STR
  • Drains 500 HP per second

Which gives:

  • +100% Base Weapon ATK
  • +200 Status ATK

Speed of Light

This enchant is very strong for new players and solo instance farmers, since it makes you basically immune to physical damage while it's activated. This drains a lot of HP and SP so you must wear leeching gears with it. This has a 1% chance to activate while dealing physical damage.

Enchant Effects

  • +100% ASPD
  • +100 Perfect Dodge
  • Drains 500 HP per second
  • Drains 50 SP per second

Hawk Eye

This enchant is only for specific situations. Like when you need a lot of extra Hit to be able to fight high Flee mobs and MvPs.

Enchant Effects

  • Greatly increases ASPD
  • +200 Hit
  • +40 ATK
  • Drains 50 SP per second
Lava Leather Boots [1] Magma Dungeon 3 Not the greatest footgear on its own, but its worth it in the combo.

Item Effects

  • +2% ATK
  • At +7 or higher, +25 ATK
  • At +9 or higher, +15 ATK

Combos with Lava Leather Armor [1] , and Lava Leather Manteau [1]

  • +2% ATK
  • If each gear is refined to +7 or higher, it gives +3% ATK
  • If the sum of their refines is 27 or higher, you get -20% After Cast Delay.
Boots of Airship [0] Airship Assault Nice footgear, especially for newbies.

Item Effects

  • +1 AGI
  • +10% ASPD
Physical Enhancer Ring [1] Accessory Geffen Magic Tournament This accessory can get the most ATK% for this build and the best resists. Aim for 5-6% ATK for each ring. If you want DPS this is the best option.

Can be enchanted outside of the instance for 65 Geffen Magic Tournament Coin .

You can obtain two of the following enchants (you can get the same enchant more than once):

Enchant Effects

  • +3-5% ASPD
  • +1-3% ATK
  • +1-3% All element resist (except neutral)

Item Effects

  • +5% ATK
illusion Booster R (Right) [1] illusion Questline The righthand illusion accessory, gives less ATK% than a strong enchanted Physical Enhancer Ring [1] , but gives more versatility with a variety of enchants.

We use a ranged enchant for boosting 2037.png Cross Ripper Slasher damage.

Warning: once you put an enchantment on, it can NOT be taken off

Recommended Enchants

Item Effects

  • +5% ATK
illusion Booster L (Left) [1] illusion Questline The lefthanded illusion accessory, this is the same as the righthand one but has one different enchant that goes on this side. Can be enchanted.

We use a ranged enchant for boosting 2037.png Cross Ripper Slasher damage.

Warning: once you put an enchantment on, it can NOT be taken off

Rolling Cutter Gear Setups

This section is for helping you determine which gear/stat setup to use. Pets and Shadowgears are not listed here.

Be aware that these are not set in stone, you can change the setup to your personal preferance, but be sure to follow these;

  • 1. Make sure you have 35% After Cast Delay.
  • 2. Make sure you hit 187 ASPD.
  • 3. Try not to use incomplete gear combos, they are better as sets.
Budget/New Player Excellion Set

Budget/New Player Excellion Set

This is the cheapest setup for starting a Rolling Cutter build, its cheap and effective. Though it doesn't have any card slots in the armor and manteau which is a downside, that means that its outdone by other sets/gear in the lategame, but you have to start somewhere and this is it.

Stats

  • STR: 120

You want 120 STR to get the most of out of STR Supplement Blueprint and Temporal Boots of STR [1] .

  • AGI: 100~115

You need enough AGI to reach 187 ASPD to maximize your spins per second. You can add more for better backslide spam, Flee, and Cross Ripper Slasher damage though.

  • VIT: 84~100

You want 100 total VIT for the immunity to stun. Anything excess can be put elsewhere.

  • INT: 1

INT is not required.

  • DEX: 90~110

You should try to aim for around 500 Hit (including foods/buffs/gears). Adjust your DEX accordingly.

  • LUK: 3~60

Extra points can be thrown here. Keep LUK a multiple of 3 for the best bonuses.

Full Excellion Gear Setup

This is the full version of the Excellion gear setup, meaning all enchants and optimal refine levels with cards are listed. This is what I recommend new players work towards, then switch to the illusion gear setup.

Stats

  • STR: 100~120

You want 120 STR to get the most of out of STR Supplement Blueprint and Temporal Boots of STR [1] . STR also scales with Juliette D Rachel [2] 's high base ATK giving you a lot more damage.

  • AGI: 90~110

You need enough AGI to reach 187 ASPD to maximize your spins per second. You can add more for better backslide spam and FLEE though.

  • VIT: 94~100

You want 100 total VIT for the immunity to stun. Anything excess can be put elsewhere.

  • INT: 1

INT is not required.

  • DEX: 90~110

You should try to aim for around 526 HIT (including foods/buffs/gears). Adjust your DEX accordingly.

YSF01 Set

YSF01 Gear Setup

This is a very strong and also expensive set to build. The 100% defense pierce of this set is why you use it, otherwise its outdone by the illusion set. It can be hard on stats so you'll have to stretch your points to the limit to make sure you reach everything you need. Use this against VERY high DEF mobs, like ~300+, otherwise using illusion should be better.

Stats

  • STR: 125

You need 125 STR for the YSF01 Plate [1] ATK % bonus.

  • AGI: 80~100

You need enough AGI to reach 187 ASPD to maximize your spins per second. Stretch every point you can to get to 187 ASPD, then put the rest on DEX for HIT.

  • VIT: 125

You need 125 VIT for the -10% After Cast Delay from the YSF01 Manteau [1] .

  • INT: 1

INT is not required.

  • DEX: 80~100

You should try to aim for around 530 Hit (including foods/buffs/gears). Adjust your DEX accordingly. You will most likely want to put almost every extra point you have here, anything you don't spend on AGI for ASPD.

  • LUK: 3~21

Extra points can be thrown here. Keep LUK a multiple of 3 for the best bonuses. You almost certainly won't have excess points to spend here, this build is very stat heavy.

illusion Set

illusion Gear Setup

This is the best gear setup for Rolling Cutter builds, the only other set you'd use is YSF01 for VERY high Def monsters. illusion set gives you a high Def and ATK, and overall damage boost. Current endgame RC setup.

Stats

  • STR: 110-120

You don't need any specific STR requirement, but you want to keep this high for Juliette D Rachel [2] 's high base ATK.

  • AGI: 100~110

You need enough AGI to reach 187 ASPD to maximize your spins per second. Keep in mind this also affects Cross Ripper Slasher damage, which is why its recommended to keep it high.

  • VIT: 94-100

You want 100 total VIT for the immunity to stun. Anything excess can be put elsewhere.

  • INT: 1

INT is not required.

  • DEX: 80~110

You should try to aim for around 530 Hit (including foods/buffs/gears). Adjust your DEX accordingly.

Critical Build

  • This is an endgame build meant for killing tough and high flee MvP's as quickly as possible, it is NOT recommended to build this as a newbie or on a low budget. You should farm a decent pool of zeny first.

  • The goal of this build is to kill a single target as quickly as possible. (Which is usually an MvP). You want to get as much Critical Damage % as possible to deal the highest damage that you can. And have 193 Aspd to attack as fast as you can.

Pros
  • High single target damage
  • Can hit high flee mobs / never misses

Cons
  • Area of Effect damage is mediocre
  • Expensive to build
  • Needs a good chunk of gears to be able to start using it
Stats

General Stats

STR: 110-125

  • STR increases your damage, especially with Juliette D Rachel [2] 's really high Weapon ATK, so its recommended to keep this high.

AGI: 90-115

  • You need enough AGI to reach 193 ASPD, no reason not to have the max attacks per second.

VIT: 80-94

  • You want 100 VIT in total (including bonuses) to be immune to stun.

INT: 1

  • As usual, INT is fine at 1. No use here.

DEX: 1-40

  • DEX isn't necessary, but it will increase your ASPD by a small amount.

LUK: 120-125

  • You'll need a decent amount LUK, but the total amount depends on the footgear you choose to wear.

  • Every 2 refines, +20% 2037.png Cross Ripper Slasher damage

Warning: This headgear can be pricey and time consuming to create and enchant, you will need to farm Bio Labs 5 on a different class, as GX are not the most useful there, and generally aren't accepted into parties.

Snake Head [1] Nova Shop A cheap little headgear that lets you use 48.png Double Attack without using a Card Sidewinder Card in your weapon. This is the budget option for those that can't afford or obtain an Old Bone Circlet [1] .

It's good to note that this will cast level 10 48.png Double Attack if you have it at level 10 in your skills.

Item Effects

White Drooping Eddga [0] Siege Token Shop A decent alternative for a DPS headgear if you can't afford Old Bone Circlet [1] . This is only really useful at +7 and higher, it also has no slot, which is a downside.

Item Effects

  • +2 STR
  • +2 DEX
  • +10% physical damage against Brute monsters
  • Chance while dealing physical damage to transform into Eddga.

Transform information: [0.3% + 0.1% * refinement (Transform chance)], and [25 ATK * refinement (ATK Bonus)]

Fafnir Skin [0] Middle Headgear Custom Headgear Quest A nice middle/lower headgear set that adds some more Critical Damage.

Item Effects

  • +3 Critical Rate
  • Disables natural HP regeneration

Combos with Fafnir Mask [0]

  • +5% Critical Damage
Sigrun's Wings [0] Nova Shop This is for when you need that 1 extra ASPD to reach 193. Will most likely be needed if you use the YSF01 Set.

Item Effects

  • +1 ASPD (when used on thief class)
Fafnir Mask [0] Lower Headgear Custom Headgear Quest The second piece to the Fafnir combo that gives you Critical Damage.

Item Effects

  • +2 Critical Rate

Combos with Fafnir Skin [0]

  • +5% Critical Damage
Blood Sucker [0] Nova Shop, Lower Hat Box A strong lower headgear that gives you some HP leeching. Best to use this if you are using Sigrun's Wings [0] in your middle slot, since you won't be using the Fafnir combo.

Item Effects

  • +3% chance to leech 5% of your damage as HP.
  • Disables natural HP and SP recovery
Abusive Robe [1] Armor Honor Tokens Decent defense pierce, this is best used with the combo.

  • Every 1 refine, +1% Max HP (of Abusive Robe)
  • +2% ATK
  • Every 1 refine, +1% ATK (of Abusive Robe)
YSF01 Plate [1] Werner's Laboratory A very strong set for critical GX builds, this is best to be worn with the full set.

  • When each gear in the set is +7 or higher, +3% ATK
  • If the total refine of the set is +27 or higher, +20% Critical Damage
Juliette D Rachel [2] Weapon Sky Fortress This is the best endgame weapon at the moment, due to its really high base ATK (300). This lets it outclass basically any other option for the weapon slot.

You can also enchant this here. I recommend using A class coins to enchant since its more budget friendly at the cost of slight worse enchants. But if you can afford to use Sea Gods Anger then use that.

Item Effects

  • Every 2 refines, +1% ATK
  • Every 2 refines, +1% ASPD
  • Cannot be destroyed in battle
Heroic Backpack [1] Garment Monster Hunter 1 The best current all around garment. This is the best garment to use if you aren't using a set combo.

  • +2% ATK
  • Every 1 refine +1% ATK (of Abusive Robe)
Fallen Angel Wings Dante's Shop As a base these aren't too strong, but they can be fully enchanted with Fatal enchants. This will gives more damage than Heroic Backpack [1] , but you may lack a bit on the ASPD side.

Can be enchant at the same place you buy them. The best possible enchants would be Fatal 4 , Fatal 3 , Fatal 3 The higher the refine leve the more enchantments you can put on them.

  • At +0 or higher, 1 enchant available
  • At +7 or higher, 2 enchants available
  • At +9 or higher, 3 enchants available

  • Every 3 refines, +10 Max SP
  • Every 3 refines, +2% Critical Damage
  • When base LUK is 120 or higher, +30% Critical Damage, and +5 Mdef

These can be enchanted here. For the first enchant ASPD% is usually best. But if you can manage 193 ASPD without it Fighting Spirit might do you better.

On the second enchant, Speed of Light, Lucky Day, or Bear's Might are the best options.

Lucky Day

Best all around enchant, gives a little bit of everything. At the moment I'd say this is the best enchant for this build. There is a 1.5% chance when dealing or receiving physical damage to activate.

Enchant Effects

  • +200 LUK

Which gives:

  • +66 ATK
  • +66 Hit
  • +40 Flee
  • +20 Perfect Dodge

Bear's Might

This is a strong enchant for dealing high DPS for a short period, but the downside to this is the low activation chance. This only activates at a low chance when you take damage.

Enchant Effects

  • +200 STR
  • Drains 500 HP per second

Which gives:

  • +100% Base Weapon ATK
  • +200 Status ATK

Speed of Light

This enchant isn't the greatest option at the moment for this build, but it will be very strong in a future update. If your playing a budget build this can help you get 193 ASPD, though its not recommended to rely on chance to reach 193 ASPD. This has a 1% chance to activate while dealing physical damage.

Enchant Effects

  • +100% ASPD
  • +100 Perfect Dodge
  • Drains 500 HP per second
  • Drains 50 SP per second
YSF01 Greaves [1] Werner's Laboratory These are also a very strong footgear, they can be used alone or as part of the combo.

  • At +7 or higher, +1 ASPD
  • At +9 or higher, +10% Critical Damage

Combos with YSF01 Plate [1]

Combos with YSF01 Plate [1] and YSF01 Manteau [1]

  • If the combined refinement of the set is +27 or higher, +5% chance when dealing physical damage to ingore 100% of monster defense for 5 seconds.
Lava Leather Shoes [1] Magma Dungeon 3 Not the best footgear on its own, but is good when worn in the combo.

Item Effects

  • +5 Critical Rate
  • At +7 or higher, +5% damage against all sizes
  • At +9 or higher, +5% Critical Damage

Combos with Lava Leather Muffler [1]

  • +5% Critical Damage
Physical Enhancer Ring [1] Accessory Geffen Magic Tournament The best accessory by far for this build. The reason this is so good is the enchants that can be on it. Critical Damage being the best enchant, for a total of +16% Critical Damage on a single ring.

These can be enchanted Here

You can obtain two of the following enchants (You can get the same type of enchant more than once):

Enchant Effects

Useful GX Information

Leeching Info

  • The more leeching effects you have the stronger it is.
    • For instance, if you had;
Item Chance to Leech Amount it Leeches
Succubus Pet 2% Chance 5% of damage as HP
Rideword Hat 5% Chance 8% of damage as HP
Hunter Fly Card 3% Chance 15% of damage as HP
Succubus Pet + Rideword Hat + Hunter Fly Card 10% Chance 28% of damage as HP

This works the same way for SP leeching as well.

GX Exclusive Poisons

Note: Keep in mind I don't know too much about PvP, so most of the "Uses" are based on a general idea of how to use it. They may not be entirely effective or useful in practice. If you know a proper usage of these poisons in PvP (through experience preferably) let me know so I can add it here.

All of these poisons last for 5 minutes or 300 seconds each.

1 Poison Herb Nerium

Antidote 1 Medicine Bowl

2 Green Herb
1 Blue Herb
1 WHite Herb

Toxin 1 Medicine Bowl
1 Poison Kit
10 Sticky Poison
1 Poison Herb Nerium

Oblivion Curse 1 Medicine Bowl
1 Poison Kit
10 Heart of Mermaid
1 Izidor
Forces the target to use the /? emote, blocks SP recovery, and has a chance to cause Oblivion status (This is silence status, but can't be removed with Green Potion or Lex Divina). Good on classes that cast dangerous skills to prevent them from killing you. (If they get oblivion status).

Newbie Leveling Guide

Lv 1 - Lv 11

  • Walk into the portal in the centre of the gears. Choose "Wake Up". Wait for Mom to wake you up, then follow the directions she tells you. After you go downstairs follow the red arrows and talk to Mom for the next instructions.
  • You are told to clear the vermin from the basement, add your stat points to Dex for an easy time clearing them, you'll need Dex later anyways.

Lv 11 - Lv 16

  • After clearing the vermin set your Basic skill to level 9 (Alt + S), and spend all your stat points (in Str and Dex preferably), then follow the red arrows back to Mom.
  • After Mom tells you about your dad, follow the red arrows back to the basement. Choose "Dagger (Thief)", then head back up to Mom.
  • Head outside, then follow the red arrows to the main office, talk to the Job Master, he is behind the left counter next to the entrance, choose "Thief Class". You are now a Thief.
  • Now go outside and talk to the warper near the fountain, warp to Payon Dungeon (Warper > Dungeons > Payon Dungeon). Kill Zombies (You can kill other monsters too, these are just the easiest to start with) until you are level 26.

Lv 26 - Lv 34

  • Talk to the Eden Group Member outside of Payon Cave before you start hunting Skeletons and Poporings. When you've completed them, report to the Eden Group Member, then to Instructor Boya. You will receive your first set of Eden Equipment from Administrator Michael in the back-right-room behind the large Blue Door in Eden.

Lv 34 - Lv 40

  • Equip your new gears and head to Payon Dungeon Floor 2, kill Archer Skeleton and Soldier Skeleton until you are level 40.

Lv 40 - Lv 59

  • Take the next quest from Instructor Boya's Eden Equipment Quest now.
  • Go to Orc Dungeon, then talk to the Eden Group Member outside of Orc Dungeon before you start hunting Orc Baby's and Orc Warriors. (Be sure to use Enchant Poison for extra damage against the Orc's) When you've completed them, report to the Eden Group Member then to instructor Boya. You will receive your second set of Eden Equipment from Administrator Michael in the room behind the Blue Door.
  • As soon as you hit job Level 40, go back to the job changer and become an Assassin. (You won't need max job level thief until AFTER you rebirth)

Lv 60 - 69

  • Talk to Ur and get the quest from Instructor Ur's Eden Equipment Quest.
  • Go to Comodo (@go Comodo), then talk to the Romeo just outside of Beach Dungeon 2 before you start hunting Stalactic Golems.
  • When you've completed the quest, report to Romeo then to instructor Ur. You will receive your last set of Eden Equipment from Blacksmith Thorn in the room behind the Blue Door. (I suggest choosing Katar as your weapon, as its the better option).

Lv 70 - Lv 79

  • Take the last quest from Instructor Ur's Eden Equipment Quest.
  • Go to Glast Heim St Abbey. Talk to the Eden Group Member outside of Glast Heim Churchyard before you start hunting Wraiths and Evil Druids. When you've completed them, report to the Eden Group Member then to instructor Ur. You will be able to enchant your weapon at Weapons Expert (he stands next to Blacksith Thorn).

Lv 85 - Lv 114

  • This us the level range to join the first gramps quest. Talk to the board in the top left of Eden to get the quests, then talk to gramps (Old man beside the board) to enter the farming maps.
  • Be sure to join a "85+ Gramps party" to farm monsters here, as its the fastest way. Note that your main role will be luring monsters for the rest of the party to kill.
  • Gramps quests are rotated at the start of every month. You can also hunt them outside of the Gramps map. Use the @whereis (monster name) command to find out where a monster spawns. You can find gramps parties at the main eden area or on #lfg channel.

Rebirth - Guillotine Cross

  • After you finish the gramps quests, DO NOT TURN THEM IN. Instead rebirth at the jop changer and become a High Thief, then go do the Cautious Village Quest.
  • Now you will be a max job level High Thief. Go back to the Job Master and change to Assassin Cross, now turn in your gramps quests and ta-da, your now level 99/job level 69, now go do a little more gramps for that last job level and turn into a Guillotine Cross.

Lv 100+

Lv 100

  • Minimum level to access Sara's Memory. I suggest doing this instance every day, it gives free +6 stat foods, only take 5-10 minutes, and is super easy. It also gives decent Exp at lower levels.

Lv 115 - Lv 144

  • Level range to join the second bracket of Gramps quests, once again its best to lure monsters for the rest of the party to kill.

Lv 120

Lv 125

Lv 130

Lv 140

Lv 145 - Lv 175

  • Level range to join the third bracket of Gramps quests, once again, best to lure for the rest of the party. Unless you want to try and solo from this point.

Lv 145

Lv 160

  • Recommended level to try Old Glast Heim Hard Mode if you have not done so at this point. For soloing try to just clear up to the Root of Corruption.

Lv 175+

  • Level range to join the last gramps area, this is much harder than the other brackets, but sometimes we can solo here (depends on monsters).
  • At this point I recommend just doing as many instances and MvP's as possible to level up, as it gets really slow at this point.

Advanced Leveling Guide

This guide is for those who have money to spare and are just trying to level as fast as possible.

  • Do the quests for Mom for the easy exp.
  • buy a Scaraba Summoning Scroll .
  • Go to the main office and become a Thief.
  • Then go to Magma dungeon floor 1 with your scaraba mercenary, be careful not to die or your scaraba will leave you, bring fly wings so you can get away quick if you might die.
  • Let the scaraba kill things there until you're level 85, then join level 85 gramps quests.
  • Complete the quests but, DO NOT TURN IN THE QUESTS Rebirth and become a High Thief.
  • Then go do the Cautious Village quest (This will bring you to max job level High Thief).
  • Go back to the job master and change to Assassin Cross, now turn in your gramps quests and ta-da, your level 99/job level 69, now go to some more gramps for that last job level and turn into a Guillotine Cross.
