||This is a new weapon from the 16.2 episode Terra Gloria, I think it has potential because it frees up space on the upper headgear slot (using this weapon gives you Double Attack level 5, meaning you don't need Snake Head Hat anymore), and it has 3 slots even though it's a level 4 weapon ! The downsides are that it's not indestructible (so you can break it because of Turisus and Rhydo), and it has the poison element. Theses cons would disappear if you play with an Arch Bishop or Sorcerer for the elemental advantage they can provide, and with a Genetic to prevent your weapon from breaking with Full Chemical Protection (Getting a Golem Card would be a waste of potential on this weapon). '''It's now possible to play this with Restless Dead Card to take care of that indestructible issue.'''

Overview

Hi everyone, Leinarth here. I'm going to teach you what I learned during my stay on NovaRO about Rune Knights. I main a Critical RK so this will be mostly about this build, but I'll also teach you about some other builds I have the knowledge of. If there's an acronym you don't understand, you should check out the list I made at the bottom. If you have any questions, you may find me on Novacord under the name Leinarth. Feel free to PM me too, my discord tag is Pimousse#3938.

Stats

  • STR - Strength is crucial for damage, do not neglect it as a RK. It increases a lot Weapon ATK, and RKs mostly play with high ATK weapons like two-handed swords, so it's more than worth it.
  • AGI - Agility should be really high if you're playing either the Critical build or the Spiral Pierce build, since you need max ASPD for optimal DPS.
  • VIT - Vitality increases your already great HP pool, don't forget that your HP gets nearly tripled under Berserk (Interesting for sustain if you're playing Berserk).
  • INT - Intelligence will increase your Enchant Blade damage, as well as your tiny SP pool. Do not hesitate to put some points here if you feel like you're often out of SP, or you'll have to play with mana potions.
  • DEX - Dexterity is awesome in case you're playing a skill-based build like Spiral Pierce or Ignition Break, because you need to reduce the cast as much as possible (Instacasting is great for increasing your DPS).
  • LUK - Luck will be really important if you're playing the Critical build, otherwise it's not something you should focus on.

Skills

Here we'll talk about what to level up in your skill trees, what skills are important; I'll give you what I leveled up but feel free to change it to your liking. The skill build is oriented for the Critical build, this list might not be what you're looking for, especially if you're going down the DB path.

First Job Skills

First Job Skills are pretty much up to you, the most important is unlocking the skills you'll have after your job changes.

Skill Notes Type
2.png Sword Mastery Lv 1 Increases ATK with daggers and one-handed swords. You only need this at level 1 to unlock 2HS Mastery; there's no one-handed sword or dagger that are worth it for RKs (maybe you'll take it if you plan on use something like Combat Knife on a Dragon Breath PVP build, or if you're going on a meme adventure with Faceworm Queen's Leg and a full int build ?). Passive
3.png Two-Handed Sword Mastery Lv 10 Some free ATK once you get a 2HS like Lindy Hop (RK's best sword waifu fellow), good enough. Passive
7.png Magnum Break Lv 5 It pushes back all enemies around you, deals Fire property damage in a 5x5 AoE, and it gives you a temporary 20% Fire damage boost based on your ATK. You need this at level 5 for Aura Blade when you get Lord Knight, and lvl 3 for Bowling Bash as a Knight. Offensive
4.png Increase HP Recovery Lv 10 Gives higher HP recovery and increases the regeneration you get from consumables, always nice to have, especially when you have the platinum skill Moving HP Recovery. Passive
5.png Bash Lv 10 Your main single target spamming skill as a Swordsman, it deals up to 400% damage based on your ATK and has the ability to stun with the platinum skill Fatal Blow. You can get a Bongun card if you want to go trolling in PvP with this and Charge Attack for maximum pushback. Offensive
6.png Provoke Lv 5 This skill decreases the defense of the enemy while increasing his attack; this skill is mainly used for luring mobs since they'll target you once you Provoke them. You need it at level 5 for both Endure as a Swordsman and Parry as a Lord Knight. Active
8.png Endure Lv 8 With this you won't get anim-locked for up to 7 hits, great to use when you need to get out of a mess or you're making a mob train. It also increases MDEF by a tiny bit. Active
146.png Auto Berserk Lv 1 This skill does a reduced version of Provoke on yourself; it gives a neat 32% ATK boost in exchange for a 55% decrease of your soft DEF; You can keep it always activated for instances/MvPs, since you don't have any DEF under Berserk anyway. Passive-Active

Second/Trans Job Skills

Warning.png You won't be able to take all these skills as a Knight/Lord Knight ! I used some of my Rune Knight points into my 2nd class tree because I don't play Dragon Breath build, and most of the RK skills do not interest me except some of them that I'll explain in the Third Job Skills section.

Skill Notes Type
60.png Two-Hand Quicken Lv 10 The sweet melody of good ol' AGI knight buddy comes from this skill. It used to be a +30% ASPD bonus but since Renewal it has become a +7 flat ASPD bonus which lasts 300 seconds. You need this skill maxed first to be able to kill monsters quickly without relying on SP consumables. Don't forget to get the ASPD potion corresponding to your level for maximum sword-spamming in the enemies' faces. Since the KRO Mass Skill Rebalance, this skill now gives in addition to the usual buff, +10% ASPD, and Crit and HIT per skill level, to a maximum of Crit + 12 and HIT + 20. Active
61.png Auto Counter Lv 5 This makes you wait for an attack during the whole cast of the skill; if you get attacked in front of your character, the attack will be blocked and you'll automatically counter with a hit. This skill might have been useful in pre-renewal but it's not the case anymore. You need to level it up to 5 to unlock Bowling Bash. Active
62.png Bowling Bash Lv 0 (or 10) This skill is great for killing monsters in AoE, though it gets sometimes another behaviour where only the monster you clicked on will get damaged and it'll get pushed bash far away; this is due to the gutterlines problem (Use your Google-fu and check it out if you don't know it). Since the KRO Mass Skill Rebalance, there's no gutterline anymore, it has a 1 second cooldown and deals more damage with a two-handed sword. On my current build I don't have it because I do not use it anymore (as a crit RK you mainly do single target DPS), to allow for more diversity in my build like the possibility of getting Spiral Pierce and a Peco Peco/Dragon. If you are leveling, you should of course take it for faster grinding. Offensive
63.png Riding Lv 1 You have the possibility of walking 25% faster as well as having 1k added to your maximum weight capacity so of course you should take it (Except if you want to be the edgy RK walking slowly away from your victims). Passive
64.png Cavalry Mastery Lv 5 If you take a mount, obviously you need this or you'll hit slower than a Novice lvl 1. You need it at level max to prevent losing ASPD when you get a mount. Passive
55.png Spear Mastery Lv 10 Works the same as the two previous masteries you can get as a Swordsman, but for spears (both one-handed and two-handed). You need it at level max to unlock Spiral Pierce once you get Lord Knight, if you're only a Knight don't bother with spear skills like this one, except if you have a really good spear you can use. Passive
56.png Pierce Lv 5 This skill was mostly used in pre-renewal for leveling with a spear on large monsters, because it can deal its damage several times depending on the size of the monster (1 hit for small, 2 for medium, 3 for large monsters). Same as before, take it if you have a good spear or simply because you want to play a spear Knight build for leveling on large monsters. You need it at level 5 to unlock Spear Stab. Offensive
58.png Spear Stab Lv 5 This skill is unused by the majority of the spear users, because it does mediocre damage and you usually don't want to push back the enemies you want to fight. Even though it's crap, you must get it to level 5 to unlock Spiral Pierce, once you're a Lord Knight. Offensive
57.png Brandish Spear Lv 2 Brandish Spear is an alternative to Bowling Bash for spear users; I personally don't use it but some people prefer using this for leveling instead of BB. I only get it level 2 to unlock the RK's skill Phantom Thrust. Brandish Spear is now a ranged skill since the KRO Mass Skill Rebalance, and its damage depends a lot on your STR. Offensive
59.png Spear Boomerang Lv 5 Spear Boomerang is optional, you can take it if you decide to have a multi-purpose build like me; I can take it thanks to the skill points I do not use for Bowling Bash since I don't use it anymore, and it adds a small amount of damage to the skill Hundred Spear (there's a 40% chance of casting it instantly after H-Spear Lv 10). If you will never use spears, you may redistribute these points somewhere else. Offensive
Skill Notes Type
355.png Aura Blade Lv 5 Aura Blade gives +100 ATK on your attacks and it's unaffected by your enemies' DEF now gives flat damage based on your level (kRO MSR). You know the drill, free ATK buffs' are always nice to have. Active
356.png Parrying Lv 10 This skill is really awesome for surviving as a two-handed sword user; it allows you to parry physical attacks at a whooping 50% chance at level max, it's like Auto Guard but much better. You can even tank several physical skills like Asura Strike or Spiral Pierce with it. Be careful though, it only lasts 60 seconds so don't forget to keep it always active, and also cast it before you use Berserk so you don't suffer too much early from your lack of DEF. Active
357.png Concentration Lv 5 For a short duration, Concentration further increases the power of the madman you are; it gives you +50 HIT, increases your ATK by 25% and decreases your DEF by 25% (who cares about DEF when you can hit like a truck ? ;D). It also gives you the effect of Endure for a small duration, and you can reset the 7 hits by using Endure after. Active
358.png Tension Relax Lv 1 This skill is optional as it is quite oriented for solo grinding; it triples your HP recovery speed and makes you sit down, but if anything happens to you (that includes taking damage, standing up, using consumables, equipping stuff), the buff is canceled. You may take it if you play often solo, do not use HP items and have points to spend on your LK skill tree. Active
359.png Berserk Lv 1 Now we're talking ! Berserk is pretty much the bread and butter of the Crit RK; you won't be able to do anything than attacking your enemies without skills, but you'll have :
  • Full recovery of your HP
  • HP tripled
  • Double damage
  • +15% ASPD
  • Endure effect
  • Increased movespeed
  • Flee halved
  • DEF/MDEF reduced to 0

It also drains your HP by 5% every 15 seconds, so don't forget to fall back once you get really low, that way you can wait for the effect to end, resplenish your SP to buff yourself again, Berserk again and get back into the fight. If the fight ends before your Berserk does, you can ask a Sorcerer to use Dispell on you or an AB to use Clearance (Use chatrooms/emoticons to talk in Berserk). Also, please do not forget that you can't level the skill until you're job 50 as a Lord Knight.

Active
397.png Spiral Pierce Lv 5 This is the strongest offensive skill you unlock as a Lord Knight. It has proven itself back in pre-renewal in PvP and WoE as a frightening skill that could one shot lots of classes without enough PvP-tanking stuff, because it ignores Soft and Hard DEFs. It's still great in Renewal, and it's especially strong if you make your build based on this skill; % ranged damage bonuses and DEX will be this skill's friends.

With the kRO MSR, Spiral Pierce's cast time has been quite reduced, both in FCT and VCT, as well as the After Cast Delay which got halved. The skill's special size penalty got improved and now the damage formula also depends on BASE LEVEL. Here's the old formula of the skill (taken from RMS) :

  • Damage = [(80% of weapon's weight * (100%+ skill level*50%) + (round.down(STR/10^2) + Upgrade Damage) * size modifier (S 125%, M 100%, L 75%)) * card factors * element factors ]* 5 hits

To summarize it up with the factors that increase its damage:

  • +% ranged damage bonus
  • Weight of your weapon
  • STR
  • +% damage cards
  • Elemental advantage
  • Base Level
Offensive
398.png Head Crush Lv 0 It used to be nice in pre-renewal because it allowed you to bleed enemies to death, since not everybody had high VIT and LUK (for the bleeding success rate, it's not the same as External Bleeding); but with third classes pretty much everybody has put a lot of points into these stats. Don't bother leveling it. Offensive
399.png Joint Beat Lv 0 This skill can do a lot of different strong status alignements on enemies, but it's highly impeded by Hard DEF (comes from VIT). Same as Head Crush, it was good back in pre-renewal, don't level it. Offensive

Third Job Skills

Skill Notes Type
2010.png Rune Mastery Lv 10 Basically the reason why you're called a Rune Knight, it allows you to create the runes you can consume as a RK. Each level unlocks a rune, and also increases the success rate of the crafting (starts at a 53% base rate and stops at a 71% base rate) so you should get it level max. The most important runes you should try to get are Turisus (Giant Growth), Asir (Fighting Spirit) and Rhydo (Crush Strike). The other runes are situational, you should first focus on creating a big supply of these 3 as you'll be keeping them up everytime because of how strong they are (except Rhydo, you should keep them for big monsters or when you need to end quickly a fight).

If you want to know more about the runes, you should check out the section dedicated for it here.

Passive
2001.png Enchant Blade Lv 5 This skill allows you to add your MATK as additional magic damage to your normal attacks, and it adds 200 MATK during the duration. This means you can directly add stat points into INT for damage, although some tests have shown that the upgrade in damage is quite small (Somebody tested the impact of MATK and saw a difference of 2-3K damage between 1 and 90 INT). Despite this, you should take it because we never say no to an increase in damage, and also because you might find stuff that adds a lot of MATK and can increase even more your auto-attacks (for example Flattery Robe which gives a lot of MATK, or the enchantment Runaway Magic on Temporal Boots which gives temporarily +200 INT). Even so, it's only a bit useful to get this kind of stuff for the Crit RK build, so don't bother if you plan on going down another path. Active
2002.png Sonic Wave Lv 5-10 It's a quick ranged attack pretty useful early on for farming little monsters. I only get it level 2 to unlock Ignition Break but if you play a ranged damage build like Spiral Pierce or Dragon Breath, you should take it level 10 to have a better variety of attacks against enemies. With the November update, Sonic Wave can now apply critical attacks ! Same as the other new critical skills in the batch, it'll have a critical chance equal to half your critical rate. Offensive
2003.png Death Bound Lv 5 This skill is an evolution of Auto Counter, and not a good skill to get in my opinion. Waiting for an enemy to strike has never been good in RO and will never be (except if we one day get Max Pain as a skill but that will never happen). We get it level 5 to unlock Ignition Break. Offensive
2005.png Wind Cutter Lv 3 An AoE 2HS skill which does poor damage, knockbacks a bit and inflicts Fear. Don't mind it and just get it level 3 to unlock Ignition Break. This skill also got reworked with the Nov 7th's RK update; it now is a self-target AoE skill that hits everything around you up to 7x7 cells, there's no more knockback and Fear effects, and the skill is not forced to Wind element anymore. The cooldown got heavily reduced (0.2 seconds at level 5 now) and the skill has different mechanics depending on the weapon you use :
  • With a two-handed weapon : 2 hits instead of 1 hit, at a 1250% per hit skill modifier, and the skill will pierce DEF
  • With a spear weapon : the damage is considered ranged instead of melee, with a 2000% skill modifier
  • With other weapons : nothing specific, with a 1500% skill modifier
Offensive
2006.png Ignition Break Lv 5 This is the big ATK AoE skill of the Rune Knight, it now deals 2000% ATK on an entire area of 9x9 cells around you (no Fire property bonus and distance-dependent damage anymore), and will apply critical hits. The only downside is that it takes half of your critical rate (so you need to aim for 200+ CRIT rate to proc it at a 100% rate. Offensive
2020.png Phantom Thrust Lv 3 This spear-only skill can bring your enemies (or allies) next to you, as well as attacking them (not to allies of course). It has a range of 7 cells at level 3, and you can use it either to save an ally who went too far into the battlefield or to troll party members (you might get kicked of the party for that, be careful). Offensive
2004.png Hundred Spear Lv 10 A spear exclusive skill pretty strong and extremely fast to cast which now hits in a 7x7 AoE although it has a big cooldown. Since the November update, you don't need to go for a light-weight spear, feel free to use the one you want ! Offensive
2007.png Dragon Training Lv 5 This skill is the same as Riding&Cavalry Mastery, you'll need it if you got these two, RKs can't ride Peco-Pecos anymore because they're "afraid" of the mana that emanates from the RKs (RP reason outta nowhere of why the devs were too lazy to make two mount sprites) Passive
2008.png Dragon Breath Lv 0 This is a strong dragon skill that does ranged, Fire, AoE damage that ignores flee and may cause the Burning effect. It's mainly used in its own build: it's quite good when you get DEX Temporal Boots and a way to reduce After Cast Delay like Tae Goo Lyeon or the Excellion set. This build is too much specialized in stat investment and stuff so I didn't invest points into it. The November update now allows you to enchant your Dragon Breath with different elements ! Use Turisus to make it Holy element, and Lux Anima to change it to Shadow element. Offensive
5004.png Dragon's Water Breath Lv 0 It's the same as the previous one, except it does Water damage instead and may inflict the Freezing status. Same as for Dragon Breath, you can now enchant this skill with different elements, including Ghost property if you use the Asir runestone, and Neutral property if you use Lux Anima. Offensive
2007.png Dragon Howling Lv 0 Dragon Howling causes the Fear status with a high success rate (80% at level 10) in a big area around the caster (15x15 at level 10). This skill is nice for luring monsters and packing them at one place, either to kill them with Dragon Breath or to allow your team to deal with them efficiently. I never use this skill but depending on your gameplay you might find it quite useful, even if you don't play DB build (especially for PvP content). Active
5014.png Full Throttle Lv 0 or 5 Full Throttle is a skill common to all 3rd classes that restores your life to the max, increases your stats by 20% temporarily while consuming a percentage of your max HP every second. Despite the fact that it seems really strong, you get a cooldown of 30 minutes on the skill, and at the end of the duration you'll get the Rebound status and become literally crippled; your movement speed decreases and your natural HP and SP recoveries are disabled. If you have skill points to spend, you should get it to level max or not at all because the first levels are pretty much crap. It can help you in a difficult situation if you're not under Berserk, or you can use it BEFORE Berserk to go fully on the offensive and hope you don't die before both the skill and Berserk's HP consumptions alongside the enemies' attacks slaughter you. If you end up leveling it, keep it for the MvPs. Active

How to become a Rune Craftsman 101

Here you'll learn how to become a master in the art of rune-crafting. But first, here's a description of what these runes do:

Runestones and their effects

  • Turisus Runestone : Giant Growth
    • Increases your STR by 30
    • 30% chance to add 250% on your next attack (it stacks with every normal attack modifiers, like Lex Aeterna and Double Attack but it's additive, not multiplicative)
    • 0.1% chance to break your weapon No more chance to break your weapon since the November 7th's update !
    • Increases by 15% your melee damage
    • The bonus damage is also applied on skills
    • Cast Time : 1 second (Fixed Cast Time)
    • Duration : 15 minutes
  • Asir Runestone : Fighting Spirit
    • Increases your ATK by a flat value + a bonus which depends on the number of party members
    • Increases your ASPD by 4
    • Duration : 15 minutes
  • Rhydo Runestone : Crush Strike
    • Deals enormous damage on your next single hit with a 20% chance to break your weapon
      • ATK[{Weapon_Lv × (Weapon_Upgrade + 6) × 100} + (Weapon_ATK) + (Weapon_Weight)]%
    • Considered as a normal attack, so it can stack with some strong skills/buffs (Double Attack, critical, Lex Aeterna,...). 1M damage is not hard to do if you manage to get these buffs
    • Duration : 30 seconds
    • Cast Time : 1 second (Fixed Cast Time)
    • Cooldown : 30 seconds
  • Pertz Runestone : Storm Blast
    • Produces a shockwave around the player, dealing high physical damage to all enemies around you; will knockback enemies. Since the November 7th update, Storm Blast can now crit !
    • Formula to be verified : ATK[RuneMastery_Lv + (STR ÷ 8) × 100]%
    • Area of Effect : 7x7
    • Cast Time : 2 seconds (Variable Cast only)
    • Casting Delay : 1 second
  • Verkana Runestone : Millenium Shield
    • Creates between 2 and 4 spirit spheres that act as a shield. They each have 1K HP as well as your DEF and MDEF. The amount of damage the sphere suffers cannot exceed its health, meaning you can also block between 2 to 4 mortal hits (for example, Earthquake)
    • Number of shields summoned:
      • 50% chance to spawn 2 shields
      • 30% chance to spawn 3 shields
      • 20% chance to spawn 4 shields
    • Area of Effect : 7x7
    • Duration : 15 minutes
    • Cooldown : 1 minute and 30 seconds
    • Casting Delay : 1 second
    • Kyrie Eleison will take priority over the Millenium Shield's spheres
  • Isia Runestone : Vitality Activation
    • Increases all the healing effects you have (and will get) by 50%.
    • Duration : 15 minutes
  • Hagalas Runestone : Stonehard Skin
    • Consumes 25% of your HP to create a shield that protects you against damage (with the HPs consumed), and increase both your DEF and MDEF. Your hardened skin will allow you with a 30% chance to break your opponent's weapon, or in case of a monster, reduce its ATK by 25% for 10 seconds
    • DEF and MDEF bonus : (JobLv × RuneMastery_Lv) ÷ 4
    • Duration : 15 minutes
    • Cast Time : 2 seconds (Fixed Cast Time)
  • Urj Runestone : Abundance
    • Regenerates your SP every 10 seconds for an amount of 60 SPs.
    • Duration : 15 minutes
  • Nosiege Runestone : Refresh
    • Cleanses you from the following status effects, and prevent them for the duration:
      • Stun, Sleep, Curse, Petrification
      • Poison, Blind, Silence, Bleeding
      • Chaos, Frozen, Deep Sleep, Burning
      • Freezing, Crystallization, Marsh of Abyss, Howling of Mandragora
    • The rune can be used while being stunned, frozen or asleep.
    • Duration : 1 minute
    • Cast Time : 1 second (Fixed Cast Time)
    • Cooldown : 2 minutes
  • Lux Anima Runestone : Lux Anima
    • The runestone has been reworked since the 7th of November; it now behaves as a jack of all trades rune because of all its effects :
      • Adds a 15% chance to autocast Storm Blast when dealing normal attacks.
      • Increases physical damage against all size enemies by 30%.
      • Increases critical damage by 30%.
      • Increases melee physical damage by 30%.
      • Increases ranged physical damage by 30%.
      • Adds 30% Max HP and Max SP.
    • Duration : 15 minutes
  • (Siege-only) Algiz Runestone : Vintage Lux Anima
    • This custom runestone has been implemented to compensate for the lack of the old Lux Anima in PvP content. It directly applies Millenium Shield, Stone Skin and Vitality Activation to all allies within the given area.
    • Duration : 1 minute
    • Area of Effect : 7x7
    • Cooldown : 1 minute

Rune Activation

There are some quite rare cases where the rune fails and you won't get buffed. The success rate formula is the following:

[85 + Skill_Lv + (DEX + LUK) ÷ 20]%

Thankfully, it doesn't happen often as we have by default a very high success rate (95% if you have Rune Mastery at Lv 10 and 1 in both DEX and LUK). Here is a list of what could happen if you failed the consumption of your rune:

Effect Chance Details
Nothing 80% Nothing but confusion about what happened to your rune buff.
Status Effect 10% What an unlucky fellow ! You get "blessed" with one of the following status effects: Blind, Silence, Sleep, Poison, Stun, and Frozen.
Explosion 3% I hope you didn't cast while being at low HP... The rune blows up, dealing you (Rune_Weight × 1000) magic damage.
Recovery 3% This rune had an identity problem, and behaved like a Red Potion. It heals you for (Rune_Weight × 1000) HP.
Teleport 2% Why would you buy Fly Wings when you have runestones ? You get teleported to another location on the map.
Full Recovery 1% You crush the rune, only to discover that it was in reality an Yggdrasil Berry. You get a full recovery !
Mass Resurrection 1% This rune felt like your party members didn't deserve their death, and resurrects them all (you're really lucky if it happens, this is about a 100 times harder to proc than dropping an MvP card).

Now it's time for the crafting part; we're going to see how it works, and how you can craft the most runes.

The success formula is : [Base_Success_Rate + (DEX ÷ 30 + LUK ÷ 10 + JobLv ÷ 10) + Runestone_Bonus - Rune_Rank]%

If you're playing a Critical Rune Knight build, you may notice that it's much easier for you to craft them thanks to the high investment in the LUK stat. Otherwise if you're playing another build or simply want to minmax, you might want to register a crafting build with 130 DEX, 130 LUK, at the Build Manager in the Main Office to get the highest success rate possible.

To complete the formula, you'll need the success bonus from the rough runestone consumable, you can find it here :

Runestone Grade Success Rate Way to obtain
General +2% Sold northeast of the fountain in Prontera
Quality +5% Sold northeast of the fountain in Prontera or Abandoned Teddy Bear
Rare +8% Abandoned Teddy Bear

Ancient +11% Apocalypse

Mystic +14% Tamruan

Basic Equipment

Here we'll see some basic stuff you can find on the floor at Prontera if you're lucky at that time or at a small price in the market (watch out for rip-offs !). There will be also mid-game equipment, and a few end-game items. Depending on how far you plan on building your knight, mid-game stuff can be end-game.

Sets

I didn't put any price here as there are different items to look up in the market, feel free to visit it here.

Set Level Way to obtain Notes & Set's effects
Eden's set 12 Eden quests (Use @go eden to go there) This is the earliest set you can get on all classes, you should get this if you have trouble leveling with a cotton shirt. You don't get any effect from having the whole set, so feel free to change some parts of your set for something stronger.
Goibne's set 54 Thanatos' minions in Thanatos Tower This is the earliest set you can get as a Knight, it gives HP, SP, DEF, MDEF, VIT and elemental reductions. It used to be a really good set back in Pre-Renewal, it still is for beginners in Renewal. It can be quite hard if you're a beginner so check the market to see if you can find the equipments there instead.
Odin's Blessing's sets 65 Skeggiold or Grizzly This one's part of the good old Pre-Renewal sets. Odin's Blessing can be combined with several different equipments for a total of 5 different sets; so if you find the armor, try to get one of the other stuffs to lessen your leveling pain.
Ur's set 100 This set makes you a bit sturdier, and increases your Hundred Spear damage if you plan on using the skill a lot, alongside the possibility of using Auto Guard Lv 1. This should help you get through your harsh period of leveling if you plan to go on a offtank/tank leveling build.
Peuz's set 100 This set is for AGI Knight veterans who want to make full use of their powerful left click. You'll get an overall increase in damage, critical chance and your Sonic Wave's damage will be doubled. You will also autocast Concentration and Storm Blast (it's a rune skill, check the rune hyperlink in the skills' section for more info).
Gray Set 120 Ghost Palace This set will give you a really high +% Holy resistance per part of the set, and you can refine each piece of the set to increase even further the resistance. If you get all the pieces, you get +15% Neutral resistance and a chance to cast Drain Life on your enemies when you get physically (and melee) attacked.
Airship's set 125 Airship Assault You'll get +25% HP & SP with this set, along with a permanent movespeed bonus.

Essences of Evil

If you don't know them, Essences of Evil (more commonly known as EoE) are card-like items that you can put anywhere, regardless of the item. You can get them in the instance Temple of the Demon God. These "cards" give bonuses based on their stat name, but they'll also decrease another stat. There's also 3 versions of each "stat card", the third one giving the biggest bonus (and it's also the most expensive one). If you aim for a budget build, you can get EoE 1 or 2 as they're usually incredibly cheap on the market.

Item Effect Lowest price Notes
Essence of Evil STR 3 STR+4, ATK+12, INT-4 ... This is neat for getting more flat ATK, useful when you don't have anything you find useful to put in some slots like the headgears, the boots or you simply don't want to spend too much money on Gold Scaraba Cards for your accessories.
Essence of Evil AGI 3 AGI+4, Flee+8, VIT-4 ... In case you were really craving for more AGI,you can get this EoE to help you achieving that sweet 193 maximum attack speed. Be careful though, this will decrease your VIT so if you were planning to get stun immunity, you might need to reset your stats to put more points there.
Essence of Evil VIT 3 VIT+4, DEF+12, MDEF+8, AGI-4 ... This is often used by tanks as you can easily achieve thanks to its big MDEF bonus the frozen and stone curse immunity at 100 Hard MDEF; might be useful in case you're going for a tank build or a Dragon Breath build.
Essence of Evil DEX 3 DEX+4, HIT+8, LUK-4 ... This EoE will only be useful in case you're going for a instant cast build like Spiral Pierce, because you'll need a LOT of DEX to complete the IC formula (INT+DEX*2=530).
Essence of Evil LUK 3 LUK+4, Critical+4, DEX-4 ... You'll probably need this if you're aiming for 100% critical chance (without considering the critical defense of the enemies of course). If you're pretty close to 100 in Critical, you can forget about putting points in DEX as you'll be most of the time doing critical hits, which have perfect hit and aren't affected by your HIT rate (and this also means that the decrease in DEX of the EoE does nothing to you, so it's basically a win-win situation for you).

Headgears

Item Type Way to obtain Notes
Rideword's Hat [1] Upper Custom Headgear Quests

Market : ...

This is a really strong hat as it gives you a chance to convert your damage as HP and/or SP. It's so great for leveling and farming that you might see Ridewords munching people's head pretty much everywhere in towns.
Ancient Gold Ornament [1] Upper Biolab Gear

Market : ...

Commonly known as AGO, it gives a neat ATK+8%. It's a great endgame hat for high damage physical skills such as Ignition Break, Spiral Pierce or Hundred Spears.
Heart Wing Headband [1] Upper Master of Coin

Market : ...

If your build is focused on spamming a skill and there's an ACD on it, this might be really good at +6 or +9 because it decreases your casting delay and your SP consumption. It starts at -5% Cast Delay and -10% SP Consumption, and is usually refined till +9 where it gives -14% Cast Delay and -19% SP Consumption.
Abysmal Knight Helm [1] Upper Biolab Gear

Market : ...

Increases your resistance to bosses and Demi-Humans by 10%. A specific tank hat but nice nonetheless for survival against MvPs.
Ship Captain Hat [1] Upper Nova Shop

Market : ...

This hat will be great if you plan on playing a DB build or spear build (Spiral or HS) as it's a really good investment, the only hat that gives a bit more %ranged damage costs about 500M (The increase in damage is not worth it in my opinion) whereas this one costs about ~25M depending on the rate of the Nova Shop reseller.
Sigrun's Wings Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

Gives +1 flat ASPD, useful for building up a high APSD.
Angel Spirit Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

ATK and MATK+2%, STR+2. Similar to Ancient Gold Ornament, it's great if you want to keep increasing your ATK; but you won't have a slot on this hat.
Wing of Diablo [1] Middle Evil Wing Ears & Spiritual Auger from the Nova Shop

Market : ...

It used to be one of the best slotted accessories you could get overall as a RK. The bonus is quite small though, but you get to use a card !
Gemini-S58 Eyes Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

If you're looking for an alternative to a Gemini card because you want to use another card in your top hat and you can't afford a slotted middle hat, you could go for this one since it does the same thing as the card.
Gangster Scarf Lower Custom Headgear Quest

Market : ...

Gives a small bonus of ATK, always nice to have, especially on a slot where there's nothing really amazing at a low price.
Scarlet Rose Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

Once you get a lot of ATK (let's say more than 600 on the bonus ATK in your stats), you might want to switch to this one instead of Bandit's Scarf because it will give more ATK.
Samurai Mask Lower Military Headgear Box from the Nova Shop

Market : ...

It gives +1% physical damage, it's better than Bandit's Scarf if you have a lot of ATK already.
Well-chewed Pencil Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

If you're looking for Instant Cast for some reason or you're missing a lot on your hits, this might help you.
Card Dark Pinguicula Card Card Dark Pinguicula

Market : ...

Gives you +10 ATK and a small chance to drop poisonous herbs. One of the cheapest headgear ATK cards you can get.
Card Duneyrr Card Card Duneyrr

Market : ...

Gives you +10 ATK and a 1% chance to increase your Perfect Dodge by 10 for 4 seconds. It's a bit better than Dark Pinguicula for the second effect but you shouldn't waste your money on this one if you don't care about P.Dodge.
Card Marduk Card Card Marduk

Market : ...

Silence immunity can be quite useful if you play a skill-spamming build like Dragon Breath or Ignition Break. It's really frustrating otherwise if you forget to bring green potions.
Card Vanberk Card Card Vanberk

Market : ...

Gives you +2 STR and a very small chance (0.5%) of getting a temporary +100 Critical Chance bonus when doing physical damage; this will make you do critical hits nearly everytime during the duration, except against high LUK enemies. Don't worry about the small chance, it still happen often; 0.5% on each hit you do can happen much more frequently than you might think.
Card Gemini-S58 Card Card Gemini-S58

Market : ...

A great card to have to strengthen your resistance to status effects like Stone Curse.

Armors

Item Way to obtain Notes
Meteo Plate Armor [1] Salamander or Queen Scaraba

Market : ...

An old armor, still performs good enough for early game as it gives you a small stun and freeze resistance.
Frozen's Breastplate [1] Ferre or Jitterbug

Market : ...

This is a cheap and slotted elemental armor you can get either on the market or from Jitterbug runs. You'll get the Water property once you equip it.
Earthen's Breasplate [1] Nightmarish Jitterbug

Market : ...

Same as the previous one, except that you get the Earth property instead.
Diabolus Armor [1] Wounded Morroc or Satan Morroc

Market : ...

Another old pre-renewal armor that can be equipped early on, which used to be one of the best ones thanks to its possible enchant you can get at the enchant NPC at Prontera in the south.
Hero Plate [1] Prize of Hero

Market : ...

Good overall armor, it will take advantage of your INT in case you leveled it up a bit because it autocasts Heal and Storm Gust lvl 10 when you physically attack. Be careful though, the Storm Gust autocast might be more bothering than useful if you kill monsters one by one, since it keeps moving your enemies around.
Engraved Armor [1] In the hidden room of Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

Engraved Armor is really nice because it'll give you a big +25 MDEF and it has one of the highest DEF rates. It's very useful since the MATK formula update for monsters, to lessen the pain you get from the monsters who use strong magic (Golden Scaraba... oof).
Card Porcellio Card Porcellio

Market : ...

This card gives +25 ATK and -5 DEF. It emphasizes again on the all-out strategy where you don't care about your defense; if you play with a two-handed sword and use Parrying, this will not be a problem.
Card Ancient Mimic Card Ancient Mimic

Market : ...

If you're playing on the critical build and you have trouble getting max ASPD or you want to spend less points into AGI, you can get this card since you'll have 120 LUK (because of the Temporal Boots of Luck) and get +6 AGI.
Card Bathory Card Bathory

Market : ...

Bathory Card will enchant your armor with the Shadow property, allowing you to tank easily shadow and undead attacks from some monsters.
Card Evil Druid Card Evil Druid

Market : ...

Evil Druid Card will enchant your armor with the Undead property, you'll get immunity to status effects like Stone Curse and Frozen. But be careful if you play in a party, you cannot be resurrected if you have undead property.
Card Marc Card Marc

Market : ...

Marc Card will increase your resistance to Water element a little (5%) and give you Freeze immunity.
Card Peco Peco Card Peco Peco

Market : ...

If you feel like you have not enough HP (even though you're a natural meat bag), you can opt for this neat 10% HP bonus. One of the best cards you could put for a DB build.

Weapons

Item Way to obtain Notes
Krasnaya [3] Drake

Market : ...

A 200 ATK two-handed sword with a rare capacity of 3 slots that gives you a small ATK bonus (+20) if you have 96 STR or more. This could prove to be a good alternative to other 2HS because of the versatility of the 3 slots; you could put a Hunter Fly card for life stealing and still keep 2 ~20% damage cards (like Hydra, Skeleton Worker, White Knight).
Heavy Sword [1] In the hidden room of Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

A 330 ATK two-handed sword made for full offensive, equipping it will give you +20 STR. Also, its weapon level is 1, so you can safely refine it to +7 (but it won't make a big difference since lvl 1 weapons don't get as much bonus as lvl 3 and 4).
Atlas Weapon [1] Atroce

Market : ...

This weapon is an underestimated versatile budget weapon. It increases your critical rate and has a big weight, so it can work for both the Critical and the Spiral builds.
Crimson Twohand Sword [2] Tamruan or Baroness of Retribution or Abysmal Knight or Sword Master or Egnigem Cenia

Market : ...

This sword is quite interesting if you manage to get it with the Fire element; it will increase your Ignition Break damage by +50%, making this skill quite effective for killing mob trains. Most monsters in endgame content are weak to Fire, so your damage should increase decently.
Death Guidance [2] Amdarais

Market : ...

A 200 ATK two-handed sword that give you a lot of survival capacity; it gives you +20 Perfect Dodge and the possibility to do an AoE life steal when you physically attack. Watch out for the Hell Power that you can sometimes autocast on yourself, it'll prevent you from being resurrected for several minutes.
Thanatos Great Sword [1] Ghost Palace

Market : ...

This two-handed sword is really nice for survival because it gives you a chance to regenerate a small part of the damage you do on a attack, including AoE attacks. It's really strong on Ignition Break and Dragon Breath builds; if you have a Rideword Hat and a Hunter Fly Card in your weapon you'll regenerate lots of HP quite often. Since the new Ghost Palace update, you can also enchant your Thanatos weapon, you can get nice effects like an elemental enchantment (they're similar to Vicious Mind enchantments).
Tae Goo Lyeon [2] Great Demon Baphomet in Sealed Shrine

Market : ...

Tae Goo Lyeon is a weapon mostly used for end-game Dragon Breath build because of its bonuses when refined at +9; your cast delay between skills gets reduced by 20%, same thing for your SP consumption. You'll even be able to enchant it with %ranged damage twice (Expert Archer enchantment).
Crimson Spear [2] Stem Worm or Naga

Market : ...

One of the famous crimson weapons. The base ATK is low but it'll get much stronger thanks to the special ATK bonus that increases each time you refine it, up to +15. If you plan on playing a spear build with Hundred Spear, this weapon will probably be one of the best choices available for you because of its low weight.
Crimson Lance [2] Owl Duke or Anacondaq or Gryphon

Market : ...

Pretty much the same as the spear, but this one is two-handed and has more weight; it's more offensive-oriented (since you can't use a shield anymore) and is the best choice for Spiral Pierce if you want to stay in the crimson weapons.
Crescent Scythe [0] Baphomet

Market : ...

You want to do a critical build but you're too poor to afford big critical bonus items ? Fear not, the Crescent Scythe is here for you with its whooping +30 critical ! But be careful if you're going to use Turisus Rune as it'll enable the possibility of breaking your weapon, and this one isn't indestructible. You might want to try slotting the weapon, and in case you manage to get a Crescent Scythe slotted, put a Golem Card inside to have an indestructible weapon and forget about the possibility of breaking your item.
Robot's Mechanical Arm [2] Charleston 3

Market : ...

It's about the same as the previous one but there are some differences: first of all it's a mace so it's an indestructible weapon (special property of all maces), it has 2 slots whereas the Crescent Scythe doesn't have one by default (and can only get one if you manage to slot it), and the critical bonus is smaller (20 instead of 30). You'll also have a much better ASPD with it since it's a one-handed mace (the previous weapon is a two-handed spear). It used to be my main weapon when I started my RK career, because of how good and underrated it is.
Crimson Mace [2] Li Me Mang Ryang or Petite or Errende Ebecee or Solider

Market : ...

The reason why you would want to go for this weapon is either because you have one with a good elemental advantage (Fire and Holy are great) and refined +7 or more (otherwise you'd probably better off with a Robot's Mech Arm +7~), either it's simply refined past +10 and you wish to make use of it (even if it has a useless element like Poison).
Card Golem Card Golem

Market : ...

You'll get a small ATK bonus (+5) and the indestructible property on your weapon. Very useful if you wish to use Turisus and Rhydo runes and your weapon is not indestructible by default.
Card Abysmal Knight Card Abysmal Knight

Market : ...

This is the card you'll probably want to use if you plan on killing MvPs since it gives +25% damage against bosses. Because Geffenia is a common farming map, you can get this card really cheap ! A good choice for MvP beginners.
Card Banaspaty Card Banaspaty

Market : ...

Banaspaty isn't the usual card you would expect on a weapon but it has already proved its worth on high HP enemies. It only works on normal monsters, boss monsters are immune to the Burning status.
Card Hunter Fly Card Hunter Fly

Market : ...

If you plan on defeating all your enemies by grouping them up together and using AoE attacks, this is for you. Hunter Fly Card allows you to regenerate health based on the damage you deal, at a low chance. Hitting more monsters means you're repeating the probability several times, and it ramps up the chance of making the card proc; add this card to a Thanatos Weapon and use a Rideword and you'll notice you get full health in no time while killing monsters, basically making you unstoppable machine that does not need a support or potions. The skills you would want to use with this combo, are Ignition Break, Bowling Bash, Magnum Break and the Storm Blast rune (this means using a consumable (the rune) but it's freaking strong).
Card Knight Sakray Card Ghost Palace

Market : ...

The chance of you using this card is pretty low simply because there aren't a lot of them on the server since it's quite new, they are currently expensive, but you could theorically get them for free if you farm Ghost Palace daily (you need 10,000 Gray Shards). It's simply the best card you can have for an evil cleansing purpose as it gives a neat ATK bonus and a big 30% increase in damage against Undeads and Demons.
Card White Knight Card Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

This card IS the meta card for all physical damage dealers. It gives a 20% physical damage increase against medium and large monsters (most of the monsters you'll encounter mid to late game) and a small ATK bonus. If you're playing any one-handed weapon, you might want to get the combo with Khalitzburg Knight card which does the same in the defensive category, and getting the set will give you another 15% increase in damage. They cannot be dropped, but they can be crafted at the entrance of the instance Old Glast Heim against drops of the instance (it's much easier to create them with loots of the Hard Mode).

Shields

Item Way to obtain Notes
Platinum Shield Sword Guardian

Market : ...

This shield doesn't have a slot, but it does a 15% reduction effective for most enemies (Medium and Large) and also 10% reduction against Undead monsters (the race, not the element). It's also great for fighting against magic, because it gives a small +5 MDEF bonus and also a 15% chance to get Magic Mirror for 2 seconds (40% chance to reflect magic attacks) everytime you're magically attacked.
Rosa Shield [1] Alice or Dark Pinguicula or Alicel

Market : ...

It's a basic cheap slotted shield that you can get fairly easily, and has one of the highest defense rates (even though defense is not really important anymore in Renewal).
Strong Shield [1] Bloody Knight

Market : ...

If you are getting knocked away by skills like Jupitel Thunder too often and you hate it, you might want to take a look at this shield. This is a shield that gives you immunity to Knockback, but it'll increase all the damage you receive by 20%; you should try to get a card that compensates the damage amplification like Khalitzburg Knight Card or Hodremlin Card.
Valkyrja's Shield [1] Valkyrie

Market : ...

It's the favourite shield of most players, mainly because it gives a 20% damage reduction against Fire, Water, Shadow and Undead properties, and it used to be the best shield back in Pre-Renewal.
Card Hodremlin Card Hodremlin

Market : ...

This card gives a 15% physical reduction against all sizes so it's great if you only want to keep one shield. There's also supposed to be a chance to get +30 Perfect Dodge during 10 seconds, but I've heard that this was currently not working, if you feel like this is important, you should make a suggestion on the forum to remind our dear developpers about the issue or post on a already existing topic about it.
Card Thara Frog Card Thara Frog

Market : ...

This the card you need to get if you plan on doing some PvP action or grinding in an area with lots of demi-human monsters.
Card Alice Card Alice

Market : ...

Really cheap in case you want to start doing field MvPs (as they are easier to do solo than instance MvPs).
Card Gaster Card Gaster

Market : ...

If you plan on simply grinding on normal monsters and avoiding bosses, this is a great card against all kinds of monsters.
Card Horn Card Horn

Market : ...

If you don't mind switching your stuff often, getting a Horn Card is great when you're up against ranged monsters (like Kavach Icarus for example). You'll greatly increase your chances of survival if you get swarmed.

Garments

Item Way to obtain Notes
Giant Snake Skin [1] Faceworm's Nest

Market : ...

The Giant Snake Skins can be found in bulk because of the random refine & stat enchants. It can be found for a cheap price in case it's full of random or not really good bonuses, or the price can skyrocket if it's a perfect one stat only GSS (DEX and INT GSSs are the most expensive ones). If you don't have any, you might want to get one of the cheapest for starters. The +10 MDEF is really neat and if you get a pair of Temporal Boots (any of the boots, even the basic ones should work), you'll also get a +15% HP and +5% SP set bonus.
Nidhoggur's Shadow Garb [1] Nidhoggur Shadow

Market : ...

This one might be a bit complicated to obtain if you're new, but it can be a really good alternative to GSS if you plan on playing Dragon Breath or Ignition Break build and you need a bit of survivability: this garment gives you a +7% resistance to ALL elements and a 1% chance to regenerate 1% of your damage dealt on one attack (AoE attacks work). You also have a SP bonus per refine so if you get a high enough refine, you can compensate a little for the lack of the HP&SP bonus from the GSS set.
Valkyrian Manteau [1] Valkyrie Randgris

Market : ...

The Valkyrian Manteau won't help much in terms of defense but you'll get a +% reflect based on your refine so it can be nice to help proc some bonuses that work on physical attacks dealt to the enemies.
Card Giant Whisper Card Giant Whisper

Market : ...

This card should be pretty affordable since MCAs are kind of common now (even though they're still expensive) and people sell most not wanted mini bosses' cards quite cheap. Its effects are : +10 FLEE, +20 ATK if your STR is 80+, MHP+3% if your VIT is 80+, CRIT+3 if your LUK is 80+. There are much better choices out there on garment so you should only keep this for the beginning.
Card Jejeling Card Jejeling

Market : ...

200 flat HP every 10 VIT points. Really nice if you plan on doing a Dragon Breath Build, you'll reach 2,4K bonus HP with this card if you go for 120 VIT.
Card Noxious Card Noxious

Market : ...

Great for PvP, this card gives +10% resistance to neutral property attacks and +10% resistance to ranged physical attacks.
Card Raydric Card Raydric

Market : ...

Increases your resistance to neutral property attacks by 20%. This one is really good because all monsters hit physically with neutral attacks, so you reduce most of the damage from monsters by 20%. This is really great for grinding solo or doing tough monsters.
Card Wakwak Card Wakwak

Market : ...

This is one of the strong garment stat cards, it will increase your ATK based on your STR. You get +5 ATK every 10 base STR points.
Brown Rat Card Brown Rat

Market : ...

This card is a better version of Wakwak Card, you will get more ATK and a great ASPD bonus but it's more expensive than Wakwak.

Shoes

Item Way to obtain Notes
Variant Shoes Beelzebub

Market : ...

These boots used to be expensive in Pre-Renewal but not anymore, since most players prefer using the "new" Temporal Boots from Old Glast Heim. I suggest getting them from the market, because killing Beelzebub is difficult. They give a big 20% increase in both HP and SP but beware, don't upgrade them or you'll lose % bonuses per refine made on the shoes.
Temporal Boots Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

If you find the enchanted Temporal Boots on the market too expensive, and you're fine with the HP&SP set bonus with the Giant Snake Skin, you can get these because the bonus works even with these.
Temporal Boots of Strength Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

The Temporal STR Boots are usually not super expensive, and provide a great ATK bonus; if you refine it at +3 (safe refine) and you have 120 STR, you'll get 57 ATK thanks to these boots. You get +50 ATK by having 120 points in STR, and you get +7 ATK every 3 refines.
Temporal Boots of Dexterity Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

The DEX boots are great in case you're spamming skills with Fixed Cast Time. These are the boots you should get in case you play a skill spam build like Dragon Breath or Spiral Pierce, because it gets rid of 0.5 seconds of Fixed Cast Time if you have at least 120 in DEX (which is in most case, enough to eliminate the FCT of your skill's cast).
Card Green Ferus Card Green Ferus

Market : ...

The usual easy-to-get card that gives you a nice +10% HP buff (it gets tripled during Berserk so +30% max HP is pretty good).
Card Matyr Card Matyr

Market : ...

Same as Green Ferus Card, but it gives +1 AGI instead of +1 VIT. You might want to take this one instead if you need every possible bonus for your ASPD.
Card Verit Card Verit

Market : ...

Easy to obtain, it's ok for a Dragon Breath build as it increases both your HP and your SP by 8%.
Card Outrageous Cookie Card Outrageous Cookie

Market : ...

This is one of the few offensive cards on the boots card slot, it's only worth it if you refine your boots a lot (something like +6 to +9), and it might be a bit expensive for beginners.

Accessories

Item Way to obtain Notes
Sheriff's Left Badge Rock Ridge's main quest

...

For what it does, this accessory is pretty strong. It suits every build you could play as a RK since it increases your ATK by 3%, your HP by 1000 and your ranged damage by 3% if you leveled up your stats to at least 90. (respectively STR, VIT and DEX). To get it, you only need to do the main quest of Rock Ridge (Fistful of Zeny), which is mostly speaking to NPCs and you only need to be level 100 to do it.
Sarah's Right Earring Sarah and Fenrir This accessory eliminates the need of Fly Wings or a Creamy card, and you can enchant it for great effects like Expert Archer or Fatal. While the accessory is easy to get (because you only need to complete the instance once), you need Shards of Gigantes to enchant the earring, which you can get from the instance or on the market (the prices dropped right now, after the enchants on GMT rings came out). You can get more accessories by spending 1 Shard of Gigantes for each accessory, and you can also get a Left Earring if you want to have 2 of them at the same time. The accessory is account-bound so you can't buy it off the market.
Str Glove Eclage

...

You're looking for more ATK and the other accessories are too expensive ? Look no further, this is one of the possible budget choices. The ATK you'll get is kind of small for an accessory though.
Luk Glove Eclage

...

This glove is great if you're in dire need of critical hits. You get +1 CRIT per 10 LUK base points and 1% critical damage if you have 110+ LUK.
Peuz's Seal Skogul or Frus

...

This is a RK-only accessory, it gives 20 ATK and 20 SP. It's also possible to enchant it; it's one of the best ATK budget accessories.
Card Kobold Card Kobold

...

Gives critical rate and STR, it's cheaper than a EoE Luk, you can get this if you're on a strict budget.
Card Gold Scaraba Card Gold Scaraba

...

This is the card that gives the most flat ATK on the accessory slot. If you're playing with a low ATK weapon, this might be better than the Buffalo combo (since it gives a % bonus on your ATK).
Card Tiyanak Card Tiyanak

...

In case you'd want to do a critical build in PvP, this will give you a lot of crits.
Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit

...

Str+4 and ATK+4%, and you get a strong effect if you combine this card with the next one.
Card Shotgun Buffalo Bandit Card Shotgun Buffalo Bandit

...

AGI+7 and HIT+7, and if you combine it with the previous one, you'll also get STR+3 and ATK+3%.

Shadow Gears

These sets can be obtained in the Monster Hunter special instance; there you can hunt a special MvP of your choice with your team, and earn components from the monster's body to craft your set (like in the real MH game). As it can be quite difficult for some gears, I advise you to check the wiki and learn everything you need to know beforehand.

Builds

Here comes the interesting stuff you've been waiting for ! And remember, never put more than 120 in a stat since it becomes a waste of points after the 120 stage; you need too much points to get a really small boost, might as well put your points somewhere else like INT. (Remember, Rune Knights can add their MATK to their auto-attacks thanks to Enchant Blade)

Critical

Remember these wise words from your sensei:

  • The best defense is a good offense, and the best offense is currently (in my opinion) Critical RK No1.gif

Warning.png Even though the Critical build that I'll teach you may seem appealing, please do not forget that's it's not easy to exp with it, especially if you follow the stats, which are given for level 175 (You'll get nowhere with 1 point in DEX if you don't have a great critical rate). You should first take a look at the Ignition Break build as it's easier to do and it'll give you a spike in damage when leveling after switching to Rune Knight.

Stats

Here are the stats I use for my Crit RK:

  • STR 120
  • AGI ~100
  • VIT ~60/90
  • INT ~40/1
  • DEX 1
  • LUK 120

If you're not stuffed good enough yet or want to play solo without foods, AB buffs or a Minstrel, you might want to switch STR and AGI so you can get 190~ ASPD. This build has the goal of making the highest melee damage possible, and it's much better to get as much attack speed as possible before trying to upgrade your damage, since it outshines the little atk boost you get from the 20 last points you could put in STR.

Skills

How to Crit RK 101:

Howtorkcrit101.png

I'm not even kidding here, these are the only 3rd class skills you need to perform correctly as a Critical Rune Knight. Critical build is all about buffing before simply auto-attacking the enemy, no other skills required. Of course, there are several 2nd class skills that you mustn't forget !

Dontfkinforgetlkspells2.png

RK November 2019 rework update: Ignition Break and Sonic Wave will be able to crit, and Enchant Blade will get buffed, so don't miss out on these skills !

Strategy

The strategy on a Critical build is pretty simple; buff yourself as much as possible before going Berserk and killing everything. The skills and buffs you need to cast before Berserk are better used in this order, because of their duration:

Auto Berserk > Berserk Potion > Enchant Blade > Two-Hand Quicken > Aura Blade > Turisus Runestone > Asir Runestone > Rhydo Runestone > Concentration > Parrying > Magnum Break > Berserk

This might seem like it's kind of useless but if the fight drags on, you're still under Berserk and your buffs start disappearing (like the runes for example), you will lose a big part of your DPS and end up waiting for Berserk to stop so you can buff again, making you possibly lose a lot of precious time.

If you're simply killing lots of trash mobs, you could also forget Berserk as it could lead to your doom since you could get mobbed and get crushed because your FLEE is halved and you got 0 DEF/MDEF. This is something I try to avoid in Sky Fortress for example, as the Ragged Zombies there hurt quite a lot. Instead, switch to this combo:

Auto Berserk > Berserk Potion > Enchant Blade > Two-Hand Quicken > Aura Blade > Turisus Runestone > Asir Runestone > Rhydo Runestone > Concentration > Parrying

Equipment

List of the key pieces of equipment recommended for the Critical build. Don't forget that you can always take a look again at the General Equipment list, if some items here do not suit you or they are too expensive for you.

Essences of Evil

Any slot where you can't get the recommended card or you're not satisfied with it, you can put in one of these essences. Usually you'll end up putting EoE LUK 3 because you need a high critical rate.

Item Effect Notes
Essence of Evil STR 3 STR+4, ATK+12, INT-4 Pretty good if your critical rate is high (around 100-110 is enough to hit most of the time), it's sometimes better or cheaper than some other options (like Gold Scaraba).
Essence of Evil LUK 3 LUK+4, Critical+4, DEX-4 You'll need this if you're aiming for 100% critical chance (without considering the critical defense of the enemies of course).
Set

I keep together the set pieces (currently only one) that are only worth running together here.

Set Way to obtain Notes
YSF01 Seyren's set YSF01 Seyren The YSF01 instance got revamped: it has now scripted drops, which means everybody in the party has his own chances of dropping parts of the set. The drop rate also increased from 5% to 10%. The YSF01 set is pretty good if you get every piece +9, for content with sky-high DEF thanks to its DEF pierce ability. It provides also a good amount of ATK% and %Critical damage if you get the stat requirements (125 STR and 125 LUK respectively).
Headgears
Item Type Way to obtain Notes
Fox Ear Ribbons [1] Top Nova Shop

Market : ...

This hat gives 10% aspd bonus, and when you physically attack, you have a chance of transforming into Moonlight Flower: it gives you a %ranged damage bonus, and +100% critical chance. I've seen this hat being used sometimes on Crit RK builds so I thought I would add it here, but this isn't that worth it as there are many ways to achieve +100% critical chance. But it could still be viable since you'd free a lot of other equipment/card slots; you wouldn't need to get any critical bonus anymore, and you could theoretically invest strongly on pure power (like ATK). I consider them training wheels that will allow you to get a 100% critical rate until you get the items required to have it.
Snake Head Hat [1] Top Nova Shop

Market : ...

This cute little buddy is your best friend as it gives you the thief skill Double Attack at level 5. Since a patch from last year, you can both proc critical attacks and double attacks on the same hit. This is in my opinion core to the build as you get a big DPS spike thanks to your high ASPD and your already sky-high damage. Do not forget that also the Turisus rune sometimes doubles the damage of one of your hits, and it stacks with Double Attack. Yes, the quadruple attack spike is not a dream, and it's theoretically possible to use it on the dreadful Crush Strike rune.
Old Rune Circlet [1] Top Tomb of the Fallen Currently the strongest hat for its refine bonuses and enchants, but also the hardest to get. Every 2 refines, you have 20% bonus damage on Ignition Break, and 15% on Hundred Spears. On the Critical build, you'll want the Acute enchantment, which gives Crit+3 and Critical Damage+10% every level. With the new update on RK's skills, I'd recommend upgrading your hat at least to +8, and eventually to +12 if you got the budget, as you'll be able to crit with Ignition Break, allowing you to efficiently farm/clear groups of mobs even with your crit build. Eventually one day we will also get the Rune Knight shadow set which allows us to autocast Ignition Break for a massive upgrade in DPS.
Sigrun's Wings Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

As shown in the general equipment part, this will give you a flat ASPD point. It might be useful in case you want to reduce the AGI you have and invest the points somewhere else, or simply if you're stuck at 191 or 192 and need a little help.
Wing of Diablo [1] Middle Evil Wing Ears & Spiritual Auger from Nova Shop

Market : ...

If you're fine on both critical and ASPD, you can then opt for ATK items. Get these ears alongside an EoE STR 3. You may also go for the Angel Wing Ears if you prefer.
Samurai Mask Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

Samurai Mask which used to be one of the best choices in the past, is now a good budget option as it directly increases your physical damage by 1%.
Fafnir Skin Middle Weakened Fafnir's quest

Market : ...

This hat gives +3% Critical chance. Currently the Best in Slot headgear in combo with the Fafnir Mask, they give together +5% Critical chance as well as +5% Critical damage (as a combo). The natural HP regeneration loss is no problem for us as we'll usually be under Berserk.
CD in Mouth Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

This will help in case you need to proc temporal boots enchants like Lucky Day or Runaway Magic; it autocasts bolts randomly when physically attacking, and it synergises well with Enchant Blade.
Fafnir Mask Lower Weakened Fafnir's quest

Market : ...

It gives +2% Critical chance and combos with the Fafnir Skin shown before.
Phylla Card Card Phylla

Market : ...

Before the Bio5 update I used this to get past the 100 critical cap as it procs often enough with high ASPD (Vanberk is not worth it as the chance is too low, here it's ok to get a smaller bonus since we already have critical from everywhere else). Stacking 2 Phylla cards will make it proc quite often.
Furious Hero Card Card Deranged Adventurer

Market : ...

This new card seems like a valid choice in case you already got a sky high ATK, otherwise you should go for an EoE STR 3. The endure effect won't be of any use to us as we already got it under Berserk.
Angra Mantis Card Card Angra Mantis

Market : ...

It only gives 3% critical damage since we're not a Thief class, but you'll want to put this in case you get the Chaotic Killer Mantis Card for a bonus 5% critical damage.
Armors
Item Way to obtain Notes
Flattery Robe [1] You can craft it with 600 Honor Tokens, these are obtainable in the Banquet for Heroes quests.

Market : ...

Flattery Robe appears here simply because it's a possible option for a Crit RK as Enchant Blade uses your MATK for normal attacks. There's no need to refine the armor, the +150 MATK bonus is available at +0. A quick reminder for some IG clowns that I met, that it's a possible budget option oriented for people who used to play magic classes and want to switch to crit RK.
Abusive Robe [1] You can craft it with 600 Honor Tokens, these are obtainable in the Banquet for Heroes quests.

Market : ...

This is the more common robe for physical builds since you get a %defense bypass on Demi-Humans, Undeads and Demons per refine, as well as the skill Attention Concentrate at level 1 (Very nice as we love everything that revolves around AGI&ASPD). The reason why it's commonly used and refined to +7 is also because of the enchants you can apply on it. If you manage to get one overrefined to +11 or more, you'll get much bigger benefits from the enchants, as well as a very good %DEF pierce.
Excellion Suit Possible to craft & enchant in Verus at the 2 tiny robot NPCs, with components you get from the instances Charleston Crisis and King's Heels

Market : ...

This used to be the best armor you could get for offensive purposes, as you can get big ATK bonuses with a combination of enchants on it (STR, ATK, ATK). Check out the Verus Equipment Exchange page of the wiki. This armor is great if you have a weapon with low ATK. It is now outmatched by the Lava Leather Suit, but if you're trying to get a budget build, the excellion might be interesting for you.
Lava Leather Suit [1] Magma Dungeon F3

Market : ...

A new challenger for our old armors ! This armor increases your ATK by a lot, and if you manage to get it +9, you'll even benefit from its neat critical damage bonus. It provides more ATK when it's +7 than a +7 Excellion Suit with STR ATK ATK blueprints.
Illusion Armor A-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market : ...

This new armor beats hands down the LLSuit and the YSF01 Plate thanks to its high ATK bonus that scales with refines, and it can be enchanted up to 3 times, with enchants similar to Excellion. As an RK, you need to get 2 Power enchants at least, and if you wanna use that armor on other classes like SS Ranger, you'll want to put a Delay after skill module for 15% ACD reduction. You have the possibility of combining it with other Illusion gears to combo and get interesting bonuses (shown later).
Card Porcellio Card Porcellio

Market : ...

This card gives +25 ATK and -5 DEF. It emphasizes again on the all-out strategy where you don't care about your defense; if you play with a two-handed sword and use Parrying, this will not be a problem.
Ancient Mimic Card Ancient Mimic

Market : ...

Pretty good if you're really craving for more AGI, as it gives 2 more points than a EoE Agi 3, without any downside.
Bathory Card Bathory

Market : ...

If like me, you play in a lot of content with Shadow property attacks, you'll take a liking to the Bathory card. Don't forget that under Berserk, you have 0 MDEF, so magic attacks will hurt like a truck. If you can get yourself resilient to them, then your life will be much easier.
Card Restless Dead Card Illusion Ghoul or Illusion Zombie

Market : ...

It gives only +20 ATK but it makes both your weapon and your armor indestructible, and it's pretty cheap ! Very useful for these weapons that get broken by Turisus and Rhydo runestones.
Card Furious Ninetail Card Angry Nine Tail

Market : ...

A new addition to the Critical RK build, and currently the Best in Slot ! It gives +5% Critical chance, +10% Critical damage and another +10% Critical chance if your armor is +10 or more.
Card Contaminated Raydric Card Contaminated Raydric

Market : ...

I wouldn't usually put this kind of card in the armor, but if you have enough critical rate and damage and you're mostly trying to be more tanky, I'd go for that card in combo with the Raydric Card for that amazing total 30% neutral resistance, as well as that neat 10% ATK.
Weapons
Item Way to obtain Notes
Robot's Mechanical Arm [2] Charleston 3

Market : ...

I already talked about this one previously but I got to where I am currently thanks to this weapon so that's partly the reason why it appears here. Basically it's more or less the same fight as JDR vs Crimson Katar; the crimson weapons give a neat ATK bonus but they're only level 3 weapons (Check the Refinement System for more information on weapon levels). The Mech' Arm is a weapon to surpass Metal Gear a level 4 weapon with quite the correct ATK for a one-handed weapon, has 2 slots and most importantly gives a gigantic +20 Critical Chance bonus. This means you can invest less in LUK and Critical bonus items and cards, and get something else more interesting to increase further your DPS.
Crimson Mace [2] Li Me Mang Ryang or Petite or Errende Ebecee or Solider

Market : ...

The reason why you would want to go for this weapon is either because you have one with a good elemental advantage (Fire and Holy are great) and refined +7 or more (otherwise you'd probably better off with a Robot's Mech Arm +7~), either it's simply refined past +10 and you wish to make use of it (even if it has a useless element like Poison) because you want to play more defensively with a racial/elemental carded shield that will keep you alive.
Vicious Mind Mace [1] Immortal Zombie Assault

Market : ...

The update to the Vicious Mind weapons actually make them pretty strong now, especially if you can get the weapon to +15 and get specific enchants like +% Boss damage, +% Critical damage; getting perfect enchants could make it rival the Lindy Hop in terms of damage, but the problem is that you have to get Critical hit by other means unlike the Lindy Hop and its Sharp enchants.
Atlas Weapon [1] Atroce

Market : ...

A decent budget choice for Crit RK, as it provides +10% Critical Hit and it's quite heavy so it works well with Crush Strike. Its only weakness is that it's not indestructible, so you might want to put a Golem Card (usually cheap so it should go well with a budget build).
Gigantic Blade [1] Charleston 3

Market : ...

This two-handed sword has a very good weapon ATK and weight, making it quite effective for Spiral Pierce, and it increases % critical damage based on its refine. Its downsides are that big -15% ASPD penalty and the fact that it only has one slot. It has gotten better though, since the arrival of the instance King's Heels and the possibility of enchanting the Charleston weapons with enchants similar to VM weapons.
Vicious Mind Two-handed Sword [1] Immortal Zombie Assault

Market : ...

Same as the VM Mace: if you can get the weapon to +15 and get specific enchants like +% Boss damage, +% Critical damage, it can rival the Lindy Hop in terms of damage, but the problem is that you have to get Critical hit by other means unlike the Lindy Hop and its Sharp enchants. The Ominous Assaulter & Heater combo might be pretty neat here.
Royal Knight's Broadsword [2] Abyss Glast Heim

Market : ...

This new addition to the two-handed swords roster is a pretty good rival to Lindy Hop, and will surpass Vicious Mind in terms of ATK. Unlike this last one who needs a special enchant in order to be unbreakable by itself, this one just needs to be refined to +9 for that. The Broadsword will get enchants later, which might make it worthwhile. Despite its strong bonuses, it has the same problem as the other weapons that the Lindy Hop doesn't suffer from, it's the lack of ASPD, which means you have to compensate in stats or other equipments for that.
Lindy Hop [2] Stefan or Immortal Cursed Knight

Market : ...

The wet dream of each Rune Knight. This weapon is currently the most endgame two-handed sword we can get, and has the right to stay at the n°1 spot as a weapon for RKs thanks to all the pros it has. It has the most ATK out of all 2HS, has 2 slots, gives ATK% and ASPD% bonuses based on the refine, is indestructible (goodbye Golem Card), and is enchantable twice (Malangdo Enchant. Getting a Lindy past +10 should be every main Crit RK's goal (You can settle for a +8 if you find it too hard or too expensive to go further in the refine hell).
Beam Claymor-OS [2] Abyss Glast Heim

Market : ...

The new two-handed sword contender from 17.1 seems able to overpower the Lindy Hop on specific cases, especially due to its +11 refine bonus, which gives +20% damage against Small and Medium sizes. It has a low crit rate bonus but since we have access to Acute and the new Illusion critical enchants, it's not a big problem. It can also be enchanted pretty good with ATK% and %critical damage. While I heard it can beat higher refine Lindies, I believe that the fact it only has a %size damage increase against Small and Medium but not Large (which are a big part of the MvPs), makes me think it's not that interesting. If anybody has one overrefined, he may feel free to PM me so that we can run some tests for the community.
Poison Forged Spear [3] Venomous Chimera

Market : ...

Thanks to the changes to Turisus and Double Attack, this weapon somehow rose above Lindy Hop in both survivability and DPS; however Rhydo is still a risky bet since it can still break your weapon and might not be as strong as the Lindy.
Abysmal Knight Card Abysmal Knight

Market : ...

A very cheap weapon card choice for MvP hunting, that does not lose to the other cards thanks to its powerful 25% modifier against boss protocol monsters.
The Paper Card The Paper

Market : ...

It does the same effect as Aunoe Card but it drains 1 SP whenever you do normal attacks. This doesn't really change much if you plan on Berserking 100% of the time since we have no need for SP once we're buffed, so it might be a good budget alternative to Aunoe.
Aunoe Card Aunoe

Market : ...

You might want to use this one if you can find it cheaper than WK card. It's not as good but it's made for critical attacks.
Warrior Lola Card Warrior Lola

Market : ...

If you find yourself lacking crits and you don't mind losing a %damage card, you could switch one for a Warrior Lola to get solid crits. Beware though, it only works for maces and it's better the more you refine your weapon (usually goes well with a Crimson Mace).
White Knight Card Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

White Knight is one of the most interesting cards for endgame currently as it increases your damage against medium and large enemies (most of the monsters from the game). If you play mace+shield, you'll want to get at least one WK card to combo with the KK card as it transforms your WK increase from 20% to 35%
Contaminated Wanderer Card Contaminated Wanderer

Market : ...

This is a better version of the WK card, that got out with the Abyss Glast Heim dungeon. It gives 30% against Medium & Large by itself, so it's better for two-handed swords since we can't equip KK cards.
Ominous Assaulter Card Ominous Assaulter

Market : ...

This is a new option that opened up with Illusion of Abyss, but only for a two-handed sword build. It increases a bit your critical rate, and a lot your critical damage and your ATK depending on your weapon's refine. It comboes with Ominous Heater for even more critical (both chance and damage). It's pretty good if you lack critical damage somehow (if you use Brown Rat instead of Petal Card for example).
Shields
Item Way to obtain Notes
Mad Bunny [1] Nova Shop or Master of Coin

Market : ...

This shield is pretty neat as it's more focused on offensive than usual shields, because it gives 5% ATK and MATK; you'll get more bonuses if you manage to refine it to +7 and later but it's quite hard and expensive. In PvM there are 2 other effects otherwise not available, which are a 10% reflect damage and a 10% chance to be able to reflect magic attacks for a few seconds.
Ultralight Magic Shield [1] Cutie

Market : ...

A new shield that appeared with Episode 16.2; this shield is really awesome because it's kind of a jack of all trades. You get ASPD depending on the refine (5% at +0, can go as far as 10% at +9), and a Neutral reduction which works the same way as the ASPD bonus. I consider it as good as the Mad Bunny, but for other purposes; it all depends on your needs (ASPD or more ATK). This shield is outshined by Cursed Knight's Shield on low DEF monsters, but it's a great way to increase your DPS on all high DEF monsters and players because of it's 10% DEF pierce bonus. That bonus doesn't work on bosses !
Cursed Knight's Shield [1] Nova Shop or Master of Coin

Market : ...

The CK's shield is now most of the time the BiS, for all builds. It gives a nice 10% ASPD bonus, increases a bit less than Mad Bunny at +0 your ATK and MATK (3% instead of 5%) and you get 7% damage reduction from all properties. If you end up getting a +9, you'll get 1 flat ASPD. A +0 should be more than enough though !
Royal Guard Shield [1] Banquet for Heroes

Market : ...

This shield is quite rare because nobody bothers trying to get one. It gives you the ability to use Shield Spell Lv 1, which can be used to increase your ATK based on the shield base defense. With this shield it's not extremely good, but why would you refuse a possibly free ATK bonus ? You can always switch after using the ATK buff for another shield (but don't bother with this shield if you aren't looking for any kind of min-maxing, the ATK bonus is not really incredible).
Khalitzburg Knight card Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

Khalitzburg Knight is really pretty good if you play it together with White Knight for the combo. It will increase both the offensive and defensive effects of the 2 cards.
Card Alice Card Alice

Market : ...

The reason this card is here again, is because as a Critical Rune Knight, you'll probably do a lot of MvPs, and this card will be great for your survival. It's especially good against MvPs with weak monsters or no monsters at all, like in Monster Hunter.
Garments
Item Way to obtain Notes
Heroic Backpack [1] Monster Hunter

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
This garment is the most used one, tied with the Giant Snake Skin. It used to be the best one until recently for DPS characters as it gives a nice increase in damage on the offensive stats (STR, DEX, LUK) as long as you have 90 in the stat associated with the bonus you want, and as long as the bag is refined to +7 or +9.
Illusion Engine Wing A-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
That new garment from the 17.1 episode Illusion can be enchanted thrice and you'll want to get 2 Critical modules as well as one Fast module. These enchants' strength depends on the refine of your garment so if you go for this one, you'll need to refine it to at least +7, and +9 if possible. It can be as good as a +9 FAW with 3 Fatal3 enchants, but only if you equip a pair of Illusion Leg A to get the +10% Critical damage bonus from the combo, which allows it to reach the same critical damage potential as the FAW. In that case, you'll have a better ASPD as well as a better critical rate than with the Fallen Angel Wings.
Fallen Angel Wing [1] Monster Hunter 2

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
This is our new best in slot garment, a bit similar to HBP as it gives you a bonus different for each stat you've increased, every 20 base points. The reason why it surpasses HBP, is because you can enchant it 3 times (as long as you got it refine to +9, otherwise it's 2 times at +7 and only once under) with strong enchants like Fatal, and it can go up to Fatal 4 on one enchant. The only problem it has, is that we lose a flat ASPD point and a few %ASPD points too.
Petal Card Petal

Market : ...

It's one of the great stat cards; you will get a 24% critical damage bonus since you have 120 LUK and it gives 2% per 10 base LUK. Definitely core on this build.
Brown Rat Card Brown Rat

Market : ...

If you already have a LOT of Critical Damage bonuses, you could theorically go for more ATK as it's better to keep a balance between Critical Damage and ATK, it will also help a lot for ASPD if you're not going for an overrefined Lindy Hop (Even more helpful if you go for FAW instead of HBP and lack these last points of ASPD).
Shoes
Item Way to obtain Notes
Temporal Boots of Luck [1] Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

This used to be, and still is a very good pair of boots for critical builds as it gives a whooping 30% critical damage bonus. The enchants are going to define the price of your boots (if you want to buy them instead of crafting them); what you want at least is to get ASPD4 to have an easier time catching the 193 cap. After that, pretty much any special enchant works for a RK (except Muscular Endurance and Speed of Light).
  • Bear's Might will give you the biggest damage increase out of all the enchants (+200 STR) but you have to get hit.
  • Lucky Day is easier to proc and doesn't have any con; you'll get +200 LUK so you'll have a bit more of ATK, MATK, P.Dodge.
  • Hawkeye can be quite useful if you're looking for another way to get max ASPD as it gives you +200 DEX so you'll get quite a few ASPD points and a bit of damage. It doesn't have the downside of draining your HPs like Speed of Light.
  • Runaway Magic gives you +200 INT so you're gonna have a lot of MATK, it will work with Enchant Blade. Don't forget that the bonus ATK from Enchant Blade changes dynamically so you can't cheese the enchant and then switch your boots to something else. To proc Runaway Magic you'll need to cast spells, the most common way to do it is with auto-spells stuffs like CD in Mouth.
Illusion Leg A-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market : ...

That new pair of boots sports special enchants similar to temporal boots but they proc much more often and for a longer time than our old ones. It comboes with other Illusion pieces: you'll get a +5% ATK when paired with the Illusion Armor A-type, and when paired with the Illusion Engine Wing A-type you'll get +10% critical damage. The item by itself doesn't have any %critical damage bonus, but it's not a big loss since we already have a ton of that, and it brings an especially strong enchant that you can slot on it, named Overpower. It gives +50 STR (which synergizes well with our high weapon ATK swords) and +15% ATK, when physically attacking and for a whooping duration of 10 seconds. Once you proc it and as long as you keep attacking, you can be sure it'll never run out as it procs very often.
Card Matyr Card Matyr

Market : ...

A cheap choice that combines survivability (+10% HP) and a tiny +1 AGI bonus, better than nothing.
Ifodes Card Ifodes

Market : ...

This card gives ASPD+5% and ATK+3%; if you already got a lot of critical damage increase equipments, you can get this one instead to increase your ATK (remember, you gotta keep the equilibrium between critical damage and ATK, it works kind of the same as the weapon % cards).
Geffen Bully Card Geffen Bully

Market : ...

This is the BiS if you want to increase your critical damage; it gives 5% Critical damage and 3% ASPD.
Geffen Gangster Card Geffen Gangster

Market : ...

Similar to Geffen Bully but the numbers are reversed.
Accessories
Item Way to obtain Notes
Luk Glove [1] Eclage

Market : ...

You will have to take either one or two of these if you're trying to get more than 90 critical chances and you don't have enough money for expensive items. Since you're going to keep 120 LUK for the boots, this accessory will give you +12 Critical; combine it with an Essence of Evil Luk 3, and you'll get at least +16 Critical (1 more point if you get past a Crit cap on your LUK stat) per glove.
Pendant of Maelstrom [1] Nightmarish Jitterbug

Market : ...

This used to be one of the most offensive-oriented accessories you could get. We're one of the few classes that will benefit from both the effects of the accessory (even though the MATK bonus won't be really noticeable on your damage). Get this one if you're playing on a budget build (the price decreased since the GMT update) and you have a lot of ATK already as the bonus will only get better.
Bakonawa Agimat Tattoo Festival Tattoos

Market : ...

Since the ASPD update it has become much more interesting; even though it has no slot, the effects are quite strong: you get a 7% ATK bonus (1% more than PoM) and a big 10% ASPD bonus (this is the most interesting part as %ASPD got much better since the update).
Physical Enhancer Ring [1] Geffen Magic Tournament

Market : ...

Currently this is the strongest accessory you can get, depending on the 2 enchants you have on it. Could go from 40M with bad enchants, to... 1B with godly enchants (2x 8% critical damage enchants). It gives by default ATK+5%, and it should be pretty simple to get "correct" enchantments on it, making it a better choice than Pendant of Maelstrom.
Illusion Boosters L [1]

Illusion Boosters R [1]

Illusion (17.1)

Market :

  • Booster L ...
  • Booster R ...
The new addition of modular accessories from the episode Illusion (17.1), it has the same base stats as a PER but unlike that one, you choose the enchants you put on it. The enchants that will be useful for us Crit RKs, are the Attack Speed and the Fatal modules. It is possible to enchant up to 3 times each accessory, so you can put one ASPD and one Fatal enchant on each of them, providing you a lot of ASPD and critical rate (very useful if you play for example the Royal Knight's Broadsword). The third slot is not as important, you may choose what you want to put on it, it's up to your preferences; I personally like using the drain modules which give you HP & SP leech.
Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Card and Shotgun Buffalo Bandit Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Shotgun Buffalo Bandit

Market : ...

These cards are here again because when you get to an endgame level, you'll have found other ways to get critical hits besides using EoE Luk 3 on your accessories, so you can get these to finish your possible lack of ASPD and increase further your ATK.
Card Owl Baron Card Owl Baron

Market : ...

Nice for hard-hitting builds like Critical RK, depending on RNGod you might get a good increase in DPS but I feel like it doesn't proc enough.
Card Ominous Heater Card Ominous Heater

Market : ...

A very interesting choice if you choose to skip the Old Rune Circlet and its Acute enchant, it will help a lot for your critical rate. Please note that the set with Ominous Assaulter doesn't work twice, even with 2x the cards.

Ignition Break

First of all, I must warn you that the build I'm going to give you is purely theoretical; I leveled my RK using Ignition Break, but back then I was poor and didn't have all the stuff I'm going to show you now, that could possibly help a lot for your leveling.

Stats

Here are the stats I'd use for an IB build:

  • STR 120
  • AGI 1
  • VIT ~90
  • INT ~90
  • DEX 120
  • LUK 1

We're of course putting 120 STR in this build because it relies heavily in ATK. No AGI needed, since Ignition Break isn't spammable. You could get some though if you're planning on getting a high FLEE, but mob trains virtually destroy your FLEE so it's not that worth it. The 90 VIT is there to help build up your natural HP pool, and also proc the effect of the Heroic Backpack. This build is all about skill-spamming, so of course we're going to invest a lot of INT to get enough time for the Rideword to regen your HP and SP. DEX is there at 120 for the cast of Ignition Break; this skill has only variable cast so you can reduce it a lot with stat reduction (Remember, int+dex*2=530 => Instant Cast IB). LUK should get the remaining points for a small ATK bonus.

Skills

So the skills you'll probably need as an IB RK, are approx the same as the Critical build except you get Ignition Break, the mounting skills from both LK and RK skill trees (speed is important when doing mob trains).

Strategy

If you want to level your char by doing mob trains, there are several things you need to know:

  • Don't face the mobs head on; always keep your distance, use Ignition Break before they get close to you so it hits and staggers them right before they hit you (that's called kiting). The better you get, the closer you can unleash Ignition Break, and the better the damage will be (if you don't understand why, read the Ignition Break description again).
  • You need to ALWAYS keep Endure up. It will decide if you manage getting away from the monsters after getting attacked, or if the train stomps on you because you get stun-locked by the many monster hits. Concentration can be used between each Endure cast, since it provides the same buff (don't forget that you can't refresh the Endure effect of Concentration by casting Concentration again).
  • Getting a fire element weapon, fire element converters or the Sage fire enchant skill will greatly help you since it increases the damage of Ignition Break by 50%.
  • If you feel like you don't regen enough with the HP/SP leech equipments you got, you can try getting a Succubus/Incubus pet to further increase the chances of resplenishing your HP/SP.
  • If you die too much with mob trains, try getting a priest friend or slave to use Kyrie Eleison on you. That way you can survive longer and train your kiting strategy.

Equipment

List of the key pieces of equipment recommended for the Ignition Break build.

Essences of Evil

Any slot where you can't get the recommended card or you're not satisfied with it, you can put in this essence.

Item Effect Notes
Essence of Evil STR 3 STR+4, ATK+12, INT-4 It's sometimes better or cheaper than some other options (like Gold Scaraba).
Headgears
Item Type Way to obtain Notes
Rideword's Hat [1] Top Custom Headgear Quests

Market : ...

This is a really strong hat as it gives you a chance to convert your damage as HP and/or SP. It should proc often with IB against mob trains.
Ancient Gold Ornament [1] Top Wolfchev's Laboratory

Market : ...

A good budget hat since the Bio5 update which boosts your ATK by 8%, you might find it for a cheap price on the market.
Fox Ear Ribbons [1] Top Nova Shop

Market : ...

This hat gives 10% aspd bonus, and when you physically attack, you have a chance of transforming into Moonlight Flower: it gives you a %ranged damage bonus, and +100% critical chance. Since Ignition Break will now crit with the November 7th RK update, I thought why not with this hat ! Ignition Break will have a halved crit rate, so this hat will allow you to have at least 50 crit. Considering the fact that you'll do mob trains, the ribbon should proc quite often. A budget option similar to the bio hat but without the big IB damage increase and the critical damage bonus.
Old Rune Circlet [1] Top Tomb of the Fallen Currently the strongest hat for its refine bonuses and enchants, but also the hardest to get. Every 2 refines, you have 20% bonus damage on Ignition Break, and 15% on Hundred Spears. On the Ignition Break build, you may use the Mettle enchantment, which gives ATK+3% and HIT+3 every level, or get Acute, for 3 CRIT and 10% critical damage per level, since the rework of RK will allow them to crit with Ignition Break at a halved critical rate.
Angel Spirit Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

ATK and MATK+2%, STR+2. Similar to Ancient Gold Ornament, it's great if you want to keep increasing your ATK; but you won't have a slot on this hat.
Samurai Mask Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

Samurai Mask is your best choice if you have a lot of ATK (usually because you have a two-handed weapon like a Lindy or a crimson weapon). Otherwise you might want to get a Bandit Scarf.
Furious Hero Card Card Deranged Adventurer

Market : ...

This new card seems like a valid choice in case you already got a sky high ATK, otherwise you should go for an EoE STR 3.
Armors
Item Way to obtain Notes
Engraved Armor [1] In the hidden room of Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

Engraved Armor is really nice because it'll give you a big +25 MDEF and it has one of the highest DEF rates. It's very useful since the MATK formula update for monsters, to lessen the pain you get from the monsters who use strong magic (Golden Scaraba... oof). Since you'll be mobbing a lot, if they all cast magic at the same time... I don't want to think about it.
Abusive Robe [1] You can craft it with 600 Honor Tokens, these are obtainable in the Banquet for Heroes quests.

Market : ...

This is the most common armor for physical builds against Demi-Humans, Undeads and Demons since you get a %defense bypass on them per refine, as well as the skill Attention Concentrate at level 1. The reason why it's commonly used and refined to +7 is also because of the enchants you can apply on it. Go for the STR enchants (Powerful Nive).
Excellion Suit Craft & enchant in Verus at the 2 tiny robot NPCs, with components you get from Charleston Crisis

Market : ...

This is the best armor you can get for offensive purposes, as you can get big ATK bonuses with a combination of enchants on it (STR, ATK, ATK). Going for the Unfrozen blueprint might be nice too to prevent mistakes (monsters who cast Frost Diver for example ?). Check out the Verus Equipment Exchange page of the wiki.
Lava Leather Suit [1] Magma Dungeon F3

Market : ...

A very good choice for pure damage, it is pretty much the physical version of the Flattery Robe once you get it +7, since it gives +150 ATK at this refine (only +100 before +7). Getting the armor +9 is not a bad idea as it gives +10% critical damage, which is useful since Ignition Break now crits.
Lava Leather Armor [1] Magma Dungeon F3

Market : ...

A more defensive choice compared to the LLSuit shown before, instead of getting +50 ATK at +7, you get a +100 DEF bonus. Stacking DEF is a good choice to mitigate the damage you'll receive from the mob trains if you get hit; a possibility to consider and ponder on since RKs have a naturally low DEF.

Card Evil Druid Card Evil Druid

Market : ...

Evil Druid Card will enchant your armor with the Undead property, you'll get immunity to status effects like Stone Curse and Frozen. But be careful if you play in a party, you cannot be resurrected if you have undead property. This shouldn't be a problem because usually when you farm, you do it alone.
Card Porcellio Card Porcellio

Market : ...

This card gives +25 ATK and -5 DEF. Used to be one of the best choices to get ATK on armor, now it's a budget choice.
Card Earth Deleter Card Earth Deleter

Market : ...

It disables your SP regeneration, but it allows you to regenerate 10 SP each time you kill a monster with a physical attack, which means you'll be most of the time full on your SP pool since it'll regen much more than the SP cost of IB if you make big mob trains.
Card Restless Dead Card Illusion Ghoul or Illusion Zombie

Market : ...

It gives only +20 ATK but it makes both your weapon and your armor indestructible, and it's pretty cheap ! Might be interesting if you pick a weapon that can be destroyed and you use the Rhydo runestone.
Card Hardworking Pitman Card Hardworking Pitman

Market : ...

A new and much better choice overall for armor than the old usual cards, this one adds 5% ATK, that's 1/3 of an Amdarais Card ! It also gives +10 HIT, it will contribute towards a tailored HIT stuff for high FLEE monster mobbing.
Card Contaminated Raydric Card Contaminated Raydric

Market : ...

It's the same as the one before but without the HIT part, except it has a combo with the Raydric Card, which will make you much tankier : +10% Neutral Resistance (Raydric already gives +20%) and +5% more ATK. The ATK part of the combo is pretty neat because it compensates for the loss of a damage card on the garment slot like Brown Rat Card or Wakwak Card.
Card Furious Ninetail Card Angry Nine Tail

Market : ...

A new possibility that opened as IB can now crit ! It gives +5% Critical chance, +10% Critical damage and another +10% Critical chance if your armor is +10 or more (which would be more than welcomed since IB only considers half your critical rate).
Weapons
Item Way to obtain Notes
Solar Sword Pharaoh

Market : ...

This weapon is a bit peculiar and will force you to keep on farming because it consumes 15 SP every 10 seconds. What is neat about it, is that it ALWAYS steals 1% of the damage you do to convert it into HP, what's more it's naturally Fire enchanted ! Quite the good weapon for farming anything which isn't Shadow/Fire/Water.
Crimson Two-handed Sword [2] Tamruan or Baroness of Retribution or Abysmal Knight or Egnigem Cenia

Market : ...

Crimson weapons are interesting for IB because you get 1.5x damage on Ignition Break if your weapon is Fire element (or you got a Fire converter/skill), as well as giving a ton of ATK when overrefined (exactly what we want for IB which is a big steroid ATK skill).
Death Guidance [2] Amdarais from Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

A 200 ATK two-handed sword that give you a lot of survival capacity; it gives you +20% Perfect Dodge and the possibility to do an AoE life steal when you physically attack. Watch out for the Hell Power that you can sometimes cast on yourself, it'll prevent you from being resurrected for several minutes. It's quite useful for beginners on the IB build as it gives you 20 Perfect Dodge: perfect to avoid some attacks of the mob train and prevent getting staggered, which often means your death.
Krasnaya [3] Drake

Market : ...

A 200 ATK two-handed sword with a rare capacity of 3 slots and gives you a small ATK bonus (+20) if you have 96 STR or more. This could prove to be a good alternative to other 2HS because of the versatility of the 3 slots; you could put a Hunter Fly card or more for life stealing and still mix it with ~10-20% damage cards (like Hydra, Skeleton Worker, White Knight).
Thanatos Great Sword [1] Ghost Palace

Market : ...

This two-handed sword is really nice for survival because it gives you a chance to regenerate a small part of the damage you do on a attack, including AoE attacks. If you have a Rideword Hat and a Hunter Fly Card in your weapon you'll regenerate lots of HP quite often and never run out of SP too. Since the new Ghost Palace update, you can also enchant your Thanatos weapon, you can get nice effects like an elemental enchantment (they're a bit similar to Vicious Mind enchantments).
Royal Knight's Broadsword [2] Abyss Glast Heim monsters

Market : ...

It has the most ATK out of all 2HS, has 2 slots, gives ATK% and ASPD% bonuses based on the refine, is indestructible (goodbye Golem Card), and is enchantable twice (Malangdo Enchant). You should aim for Fighting Spirit enchants.
Twin Edge of Naght Seiger [3] Naght Seiger

Market : ...

This sword is currently the best choice possible for a skill build with Bio5 cards as it is the level 4 weapon with 3 slots that has the best weapon ATK, and it can even be Malangdo enchanted. The little but cool bonus for an IB build, is that this weapon is naturally Fire enchanted, which means that your Ignition Break will always do +50% more damage by default (except if you reenchant it with a different element).
Long Horn [1] Cornus and Fallen Bishop

Market : ...

This holy spear is one of the best budget weapons you can get for early IB farming where you take advantage of the Holy element, like at Geffenia for example. It's indestructible so there's no fear of breaking it. Its ATK is ok for a one-handed weapon, but it's its element which makes it stand out among the others.
Crimson Spear [2] Stem Worm or Naga

Market : ...

Same business as the Crimson Two-handed Sword, but the spear allows you to wield a shield on which you can put a racial/size resistance card; if you plan on mobbing a lot, it's your best and safest bet. Get a mount to remove size penalty.
Crimson Lance [2] Owl Duke or Anacondaq or Gryphon

Market : ...

Pretty much the same as the other Crimson weapons, but this one is two-handed and has more weight; it's rather more offensive-oriented since you can't use a shield and it has more ATK. If you get a mount with a spear or a lance, you won't have any size penalty problem as you would normally, which makes it the strongest of the Crimson weapons for RK in terms of damage, but you lose the possibility of having Parrying with a two-handed sword or simply a shield with a spear; up to you !
Poison Forged Spear [3] Venomous Chimera

Market : ...

As I said before on the Critical build: it's a spear, so you don't have any size penalty on a Peco Peco/Dragon. We recently got Bio Labs 5 content, Seyren Windsor card increases IB damage and the spear is level 4 and has 3 slots; this means +180% damage on Ignition Break if you manage to get a +10 Poison Forged Spear !
White Knight Card Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

White Knight is the second most interesting card for endgame currently as it increases your damage against medium and large enemies by 20% (most of the monsters from the game).
Card Hunter Fly Card Hunter Fly

Market : ...

Since you'll be mobbing a lot, you'll often proc the life leech with Ignition Break. And since it hits hard, you'll probably regen a big chunk of your HPs.
Contaminated Wanderer Card Contaminated Wanderer

Market : ...

This is a better version of the WK card, that got out with the Abyss Glast Heim dungeon. It gives 30% against Medium & Large by itself, so it's better for two-handed swords since we can't equip KK cards.
Seyren Windsor Card Tomb of the Fallen

Market : ...

This card is awesome for Ignition Break as it increases up to 60% its damage, depending on several conditions. You start with +20%, get another 20% if your weapon is level 4 and another 20% if your weapon is +10 or more. This is the best card you can get for an IB build.
Shields
Item Way to obtain Notes
Mad Bunny [1] Nova Shop

Market : ...

This shield is outshined by Cursed Knight's Shield on low DEF monsters, but it's a great way to increase your DPS on all high DEF monsters and players.
Cursed Knight's Shield [1] Nova Shop

Market : ...

Card Gaster Card Gaster

Market : ...

If you plan on mobbing only, that means you'll be facing 90% of the time normal monsters. Gaster Card is perfect for that, since it reduces the damage of ALL the non-boss type monsters by 25%.

Try getting a GSS with several STR enchants for our IB build.
Nidhoggur's Shadow Garb [1] Nidhoggur Shadow

Market : ...

This one might be a bit complicated to obtain if you're new, but it can be a really good alternative to GSS if you plan on playing Dragon Breath or Ignition Break build and you need a bit of survivability: this garment gives you a +7% resistance to ALL elements and a 1% chance to regenerate 1% of your damage dealt on one attack (AoE attacks like IB work). Combine this with a Cursed Knight's Shield and you have 14% resistance to all elements ! Quite the underrated garment in my opinion.
Excellion Wing Possible to craft & enchant in Verus at the 2 tiny robot NPCs, with components you get from Charleston Crisis

Market : ...

If you want to go full ATK, you can always pick the wing and put 3 ATK enchants on it; the combo with the Excellion Suit will also increase your survivability with some P.Dodge. But beware, the after cast delay reduction won't work on Ignition Break, as the skill has a cooldown that you can't reduce with current gears (and no after cast delay).

Also, if you combine it with an Abusive Robe, you'll get a great ATK% bonus thanks to the set effect as well as a HP% bonus, based on the refine of the Abusive Robe. Perfect for Ignition Break !
Heroic Backpack [1] Monster Hunter

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
I brought back from abyss the Backpack, as it still is a very good multi-purpose option and because IB can now crit. The 90+ VIT bonus which gives neutral resistance will synergize well with a Raydric combo, and you'll get nice buffs from the STR and the LUK bonuses too.

Illusion Engine Wing A-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
That new garment from the 17.1 episode Illusion can be enchanted thrice and you'll want to get 2 Critical modules as well as one Above All module. You'll get as well more critical rate than FAW so this garment is best in slot as long as you got a pair of Illusion Leg equipped.
Raydric Card Brown Rat

Market : ...

If you think you need more resistance, then feel free to take the Raydric Card ! 20% reduction of the damage coming from the monsters, hell yes.
Brown Rat Card Brown Rat

Market : ...

This is the card that gives the highest ATK on garment. Your best bet if you want a card that increases damage on that slot.
Petal Card Petal

Market : ...

It's one of the great stat cards; you will get a 24% critical damage bonus since you have 120 LUK and it gives 2% per 10 base LUK. Definitely the new core card since the November RK update that enables crit on IB, and the new Illusion gears that already give enough ATK.
Shoes
Item Way to obtain Notes
Temporal Boots of Strength Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

The Temporal STR Boots are usually not super expensive, and provide a great ATK bonus; if you refine it at +3 (safe refine) and you have 120 STR, you'll get 57 ATK thanks to these boots. You get +50 ATK by having 120 points in STR, and you get +7 ATK every 3 refines.
  • Lucky Day is easier to proc and doesn't have any con; you'll get +200 LUK so you'll have a bit more of ATK, MATK, P.Dodge. Probably your safest bet on an IB build !
  • Bear's Might will give you the biggest damage increase out of all the enchants (+200 STR) but you have to get hit. I kept it here because it's really strong, but keep in mind that if you get too much strong monsters hitting you, yes you'll proc it, but you will also probably die staggered by the mobs. It's fine for farming lower level areas like Juperos though !
Temporal Boots of Luck [1] Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

This used to be, and still is a very good pair of boots for critical builds as it gives a whooping 30% critical damage bonus.

Outrageous Cookie Card Outrageous Cookie

Market : ...

It does the same as Ifodes (possibly better depending on the refine) and it's cheaper. The downside is that your HP gets reduced (The ASPD% of Ifodes is not a big deal for us).
Ifodes Card Ifodes

Market : ...

This card gives ATK+3% and ASPD+5%; usually cheaper than Geffen Bully and the ATK% increase is great for a footgear card.
Geffen Bully Card Geffen Bully

Market : ...

This is usually the BiS if you want to increase your critical damage; it gives 5% Critical damage and 3% ASPD.
Accessories
Item Way to obtain Notes
Sheriff's Left Badge Rock Ridge's main quest

Market : ...

Peuz's Seal Skogul or Frus

Market : ...

This is a RK-only accessory, it gives 20 ATK and 20 SP. It's also possible to enchant it; it's one of the best ATK budget accessories.
Luk Glove [1] Eclage

Market : ...

You will have to take either one or two of these if you're trying to get more than 90 critical chances and you don't have enough money for expensive items. If you're going to keep 120 LUK for the boots, this accessory will give you +12 Critical; combine it with an Essence of Evil Luk 3, and you'll get at least +16 Critical (1 more point if you get past a Crit cap on your LUK stat) per glove.

Even though it has no slot, the effects are quite strong: you get a 7% ATK bonus (1% more than PoM) and 10% ASPD.
Physical Enhancer Ring [1] Geffen Magic Tournament

Market : ...

Currently this is the strongest accessory you can get, depending on the 2 enchants you have on it. Could go from 40M with bad enchants, to... 1B with godly enchants (2 critical damage enchants for example). It gives by default ATK+5%, and it should be pretty simple to get "correct" enchantments on it, making it a better choice than Pendant of Maelstrom. Try to get 2 critical damage enchants on it.

The enchants that will be useful for the IB RK, are the Fatal and the Drain modules. The last slot is up to you !
Card Gold Scaraba Card Gold Scaraba

Market : ...

This is the second card that gives the most flat ATK on the accessory slot (Gigantes gives the double). Not very used nowadays, you should be abl to find it for cheap.
Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Card and Shotgun Buffalo Bandit Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Shotgun Buffalo Bandit

Market : ...

With this card combo you can get 7% ATK, to finish your stuff in beauty.
Card Gigantes Card Gigantes

Market : ...

This is the highest ATK card you can get on accessory, you can only equip it on the left accessory though. The best thing to do is to combine it with the Revolver Buffalo Bandit Card which is equipped on the right slot, and adds 4% ATK and 4 STR.
Card Ominous Heater Card Ominous Heater

Market : ...

A very interesting choice as it will help a lot for your critical rate. Please note that the set with Ominous Assaulter doesn't work twice, even with 2x the cards.

Spiral Pierce

A lot of you have been asking for it, and here it is ! An unpopular yet efficient single-target ranged skill, that can actually go high in terms of DPS.

Stats

Here are the stats for Spiral Pierce :

  • STR 120
  • AGI 120~
  • VIT 90~
  • INT 90~
  • DEX 120
  • LUK 1

We're of course putting 120 STR in this build because it relies heavily in ATK. Close to 120 base AGI is necessary because we're looking for maximum spammability on this build. The 90 VIT is there to help build up your natural HP pool, eliminate the stun possibility and also proc the effect of the Heroic Backpack. Since this is all about skill-spamming, so of course we're going to invest a lot of INT to get enough time for the Rideword to regen your HP and SP, as well as helping reduce VCT. We got 120 DEX to reduce the most possible the cast as well as eliminate FCT thanks to Temporal Dex Boots. LUK should get the remaining points for a small ATK bonus.

Skills

So this could be simply played like other skill-focused builds where you only focus on a single skill (which here is Spiral Pierce of course), but you may also level other 3rd class ranged skills like Sonic Wave, Hundred Spears (if you're using a spear) and Dragon Breath. Another good addition would be Brandish Spear since it's ranged since the skill rework, and scales off STR.

Strategy

It is mostly going to revolve around spamming Spiral Pierce, so I'd recommend setting your Spiral Pierce hotkey on Smartcast mode in NovaExt. If you don't know how to do that, you might want to read the tutorial here. If you feel like you don't regen enough with the HP/SP leech equipments you got, you can try getting a Succubus/Incubus pet to further increase the chances of resplenishing your HP/SP.

Equipment

List of the key pieces of equipment recommended for the Spiral Pierce build.

Essences of Evil

Any slot where you can't get the recommended card or you're not satisfied with it, you can usually put in this essence.

Item Effect Notes
Essence of Evil STR 3 STR+4, ATK+12, INT-4 It's sometimes better or cheaper than some other options (like Gold Scaraba).
Essence of Evil DEX 3 DEX + 4 Hit + 8 LUK - 4 It's actually core if you want to spam the most possible by reaching Instant Cast with stat reduction.

Feel free to optimize your build with these if you need to reduce the amount of DEX you got in your stats.

Headgears
Item Type Way to obtain Notes
Rideword's Hat [1] Top Custom Headgear Quests

Market : ...

This is a really strong hat as it gives you a chance to convert your damage as HP and/or SP. It might be necessary to fight the SP consumption of Spiral Pierce.
Ancient Gold Ornament [1] Top Wolfchev's Laboratory

Market : ...

Awesome hat for our build, it boosts our ATK by 8%, and gives an all stat +2 bonus, great for cast time. A good budget hat since the Bio5 update, you might find it for a cheap price on the market.
Heart Wing Headband [1] Top Master of Coin

Market : ...

Looking for even MOAR spammability ? Look no further, Heart Wing Headband is there for you ! It reduces your ACD by 5% and your SP consumption by 10%, then reduces both by 3% every 3 refines ! Truly great for skill-spamming builds.
Old Rune Circlet [1] Top Tomb of the Fallen Currently the strongest hat for its refine bonuses and enchants, but also the hardest to get. Every 2 refines, you have 20% bonus damage on Ignition Break, and 15% on Hundred Spears. For Spiral Pierce, you'll want the Mettle enchantment, which gives ATK+3% and HIT+3 every level; it could help a lot in case you're trying to hit high Flee enemies.
Sigrun's Wings Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

It's basically a cheap trade-off: by getting this flat +1 ASPD you'll be able to invest less AGI on your build, meaning more DEX in your stats (Points past 120 are expensive, watch out !).
Angel Spirit Middle Nova Shop

Market : ...

ATK and MATK+2%, STR+2. Similar to Ancient Gold Ornament, it's great if you want to keep increasing your ATK; but you won't have a slot on this hat.
New Wave Sunglasses Middle Custom Headgear Quests

Market : ...

The current middle hat trend for skill-spam builds. Its 10% ACD bonus is awesome for the slot it occupies, and should definitely be your first choice if you have the money or the time to farm the crafting items.
Samurai Mask Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

Samurai Mask is your best choice if you have a lot of ATK (usually because you have a two-handed weapon like a Lindy or a crimson weapon). Otherwise you might want to get a Bandit Scarf.
Well-chewed Pencil Lower Nova Shop

Market : ...

A very good choice as it is quite cheap, and actually gives you a good stat bonus for a lower hat (DEX+2), as well as HIT to help you clear these pesky and agile enemies.
Rosary In Mouth Lower Rosary in Mouth quest

Market : ...

This Best in Slot lower hat for Instant Cast can be obtained by doing a small but rewarding quest.
Furious Hero Card Card Deranged Adventurer

Market : ...

This new card seems like a valid choice in case you already got a sky high ATK, otherwise you should go for an EoE DEX or STR 3.
Armors
Item Way to obtain Notes
Abusive Robe [1] You can craft it with 600 Honor Tokens, these are obtainable in the Banquet for Heroes quests.

Market : ...

This is the most common armor for physical builds against Demi-Humans, Undeads and Demons since you get a %defense bypass on them per refine, as well as the skill Attention Concentrate at level 1. The reason why it's commonly used and refined to +7 is also because of the enchants you can apply on it.

Thanks to the DEX enchants, you can get much more easily Instant Cast with this armor. You'll trade damage you could have with Lava Leather/Excellion for spammability if you don't want to invest too much on DEX elsewhere.

Excellion Suit Craft & enchant in Verus at the 2 tiny robot NPCs, with components you get from Charleston Crisis

Market : ...

This is one of the best armors you can get for offensive purposes, as you can get big ATK bonuses with a combination of enchants on it (STR, ATK, ATK) and it gives you ACD reduction. Going for the Unfrozen blueprint might be nice too to prevent mistakes (monsters who cast Frost Diver for example ?). Check out the Verus Equipment Exchange page of the wiki. Spiral Pierce is a skill that only has ACD, so getting this set will improve a lot your spammability.
Lava Leather Suit [1] Magma Dungeon F3

Market : ...

Probably now the Best in Slot choice for pure damage, it is pretty much the physical version of the Flattery Robe once you get it +7, since it gives +150 ATK at this refine (only +100 before +7).
Lava Leather Armor [1] Magma Dungeon F3

Market : ...

A more defensive choice compared to the LLSuit shown before, instead of getting +50 ATK at +7, you get a +100 DEF bonus. A possibility to consider and ponder on since RKs have a naturally low DEF.
YSF01 Plate [1] Werner Laboratory

Market : ...

This bad boy Seyren has allowed us to wear his awesome armor, which will totally power us up ! His plate gives a huge ATK% bonus, based on your STR (if it reaches 125) and the refine of the armor. Definitely top tier for our build, especially with the combo with the manteau that you'll see in the Garments section !

Used to be one of the best choices to get ATK on armor, now it's a budget choice.
Card Restless Dead Card Illusion Ghoul or Illusion Zombie

Market : ...

It gives only +20 ATK but it makes both your weapon and your armor indestructible, and it's pretty cheap ! Might be interesting if you pick a weapon that can be destroyed and need to use Rhydo.
Card Hardworking Pitman Card Hardworking Pitman

Market : ...

A new and much better choice overall for armor than the old usual cards, this one adds 5% ATK, that's 1/3 of an Amdarais Card ! It also gives +10 HIT, it will contribute towards a tailored HIT stuff for high flee monster mobbing; nothing as frustrating as missing all your hits with Spiral...
Card Contaminated Raydric Card Contaminated Raydric

Market : ...

It's the same as the Pitman one but without the HIT part, except it has a combo with the Raydric Card which will make you much tankier : +10% Neutral Resistance (Raydric already gives +20%) and +5% more ATK. The ATK part of the combo is pretty neat because it compensates for the loss of a damage card on the garment slot like Brown Rat Card or Wakwak Card.
Weapons
Item Way to obtain Notes

Tae Goo Lyeon [2] Great Demon Baphomet in Sealed Shrine

Market : ...

The TGL is an awesome weapon for ACD as it reduces your cast delay between skills by 20%, same thing for your SP consumption. You'll even be able to enchant it with %ranged damage twice (Expert Archer enchantment). The only downside is that it's not a very heavy weapon, so you will lose on one of the big factors that increase the damage of the skill.
Royal Knight's Broadsword [2] Abyss Glast Heim monsters

Market : ...

This new addition to the two-handed swords roster is a pretty good rival to Lindy Hop, and will surpass Vicious Mind in terms of ATK and weight. Unlike this last one who needs a special enchant in order to be unbreakable by itself, this one just needs to be refined to +9 for that. The Broadsword will get enchants later, which might make it worthwhile if it includes ACD.
Illusion Tae Goo Lyeon [2] Illusion of Labyrinth

Market : ...

This is the new upgraded version of the Tae Goo Lyeon, which even with its moderate weight, is a very strong contender. It gives 2% ranged damage every refine, and gives you 20% ACD at +9.

It has the most weapon ATK out of all 2HS, has 2 slots, gives ATK% and ASPD% bonuses based on the refine, is indestructible (goodbye Golem Card), and is enchantable twice (Malangdo Enchant). You should aim for Expert Archer enchants.
Hunting Spear [1] Kraken or Leak or Fallen Bishop or Boitata

Market : ...

This contestant is playing alone in his category as it is pretty much the best (and only worth it) one-handed weapon you could find for Spiral Pierce, with its mighty 420 (No, I'm not saying it) weight. It pierces the defense of Brute monsters, is level 4 and can even be Malangdo enchanted !
Giant Lance [2] Bio Labs 3/Wolfchev Laboratory

Market : ...

So that lance is hands down the strongest Spiral Pierce weapon because of its enormous 2000 weight. The big problem though, is that it adds to Spiral Pierce a 20 seconds long cooldown, meaning you can't spam the skill at all. It could be used in specific cases like maybe PvP/BG for the memes ? Or when you need to OS some big monsters but you can still survive fine with other skills like Sonic Wave for example.
White Knight Card Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

White Knight is the most interesting card for endgame currently as it increases your damage against medium and large enemies (most of the monsters from the game).
Contaminated Wanderer Card Contaminated Wanderer

Market : ...

The current strongest size modifier card for weapons ! They give 10% more than WK cards, so you should aim for these for an endgame build. If you can use a shield somehow though, you will want to use a WK to combo with the KK card as it is stronger (you can only make the combo once).
Shields
Item Way to obtain Notes
Mad Bunny [1] Nova Shop

Market : ...

This shield is outshined by Cursed Knight's Shield on low DEF monsters, but it's a great way to increase your DPS on all high DEF monsters and players.
Cursed Knight's Shield [1] Nova Shop

Market : ...

You could look for a cheap GSS with a combination of DEX and INT if you want to get easy IC.

Spiral Pierce is a skill that only has ACD, so getting this set will improve a lot your spammability.

Also, if you combine it with an Abusive Robe, you'll get a great ATK% bonus thanks to the set effect as well as a HP% bonus, based on the refine of the Abusive Robe.
Heroic Backpack [1] Monster Hunter

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
Although the HBP doesn't give any ACD reduction, it still is a solid choice for the versatility it has : ATK, ASPD and ranged damage bonuses. If you feel like other garments kill too much your ASPD, you may go for this one as it does indeed not have any ACD reduction but it improves your attack speed and your damage overall, so you're not losing too hard on DPS.
YSF01 Manteau [1] Werner Laboratory

Market : ...

Next in the badass set of Seyren, we got the manteau ! Although it requires us having 125 VIT for its big 10% ACD reduction at +0, the fact that we get even more reduction from both the refine of the garment and from the combo with the armor, makes it a very powerful choice. Definitely something you'll want at +9 otherwise the garment is not worth wasting your stat points on it.
Fallen Angel Wing [1] Monster Hunter 2

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
This garment has a very good %ranged damage potential with the enchants on it and will beat the Engine Wing from 17.1, but it lacks ACD reduction, so beware of the spammability.
Illusion Engine Wing B-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market :

  • +7 ...
  • +9 ...
That new garment from the 17.1 episode Illusion can be enchanted thrice and you'll want to get 2 Fast modules. These enchants' strength depends on the refine of your garment so if you go for this one, you'll need to refine it to at least +7, and +9 if possible. Since it's the B-type, when combined with the A-type armor we'll get 10% ACD so it's pretty strong for us, especially if you don't use a weapon that gives ACD like the TGL.
Brown Rat Card Brown Rat

Market : ...

This is the card that gives the highest ATK on garment, as well as a bit of ASPD%. If you feel like you're lacking too much attack speed, you might want to go for that one.
Menblatt Card Menblatt

Market : ...

The only card which gives +% ranged damage for any weapon. Your best bet if you want a card that increases damage on that slot.
Raydric Card Raydric

Market : ...

If you think you need more resistance, then feel free to take the Raydric Card ! 20% reduction of the damage coming from the monsters, hell yes.
Shoes
Item Way to obtain Notes
Temporal Boots of Dexterity Old Glast Heim

Market : ...

This is pretty much the only boots you want to go for as they eliminate the FCT of Spiral Pierce once you put 120 points in DEX.
  • Lucky Day doesn't have any con; you'll get +200 LUK so you'll have a bit more of ATK, HIT, P.Dodge. Probably your safest bet !
  • Hawk eye procs faster than Lucky Day and will increase your ASPD by a few points, but you'll suffer a SP drain
Illusion Leg A-type [1] Illusion (17.1)

Market : ...

That new pair of boots sports special enchants similar to temporal boots but they proc much more often and for a longer time than our old ones. It comboes with other Illusion pieces: you'll get a +5% ATK when paired with the Illusion Armor A-type. It brings 2 strong enchants that will interest us :
    • Overpower which gives +50 STR (which synergizes well with our high weapon ATK swords) and +15% ATK, when physically attacking and for a whooping duration of 10 seconds
    • Firing Shot which gives +50 DEX and +10% Ranged damage.

While Overpower will usually give you more damage, you need to think about your cast time and your ASPD, which Firing Shot will take care of. Up to you to find the one that fits the best with the equipments you chose !

Outrageous Cookie Card Outrageous Cookie

Market : ...

It's a cheaper choice than Ifodes, the downside is that your HP gets reduced and you don't get that neat ASPD bonus.
Ifodes Card Ifodes

Market : ...

This card gives ATK+3% and ASPD+5%; a bit expensive but the ATK% increase is great for a footgear card.
Odoric Card Odoric

Market : ...

Here we have a card that fits more the ranged bill as it improves your ranged damage by 5% and your ASPD by 3%. It is a mix between Ifodes and Blut Hase, perhaps something you'll be interested in if you're lacking ASPD.
Blut Hase Card Blut Hase

Market : ...

That card is simply the best damage-oriented card you could ever get for boots as it gives +3% ATK as well as +5% ranged damage. Its price is also the highest of the non-mvp/miniboss cards, it's usually twice or thrice the price of an Ifodes.
Accessories
Item Way to obtain Notes
Sheriff's Left Badge Rock Ridge's main quest

Market : ...

Pendant of Maelstrom [1] Nightmarish Jitterbug

Market : ...

This used to be one of the most offensive-oriented accessories you could get, it has an all stats bonus so another good addition for your cast time ! Get this one if you're playing on a budget build (the price decreased since the GMT update).
Bakonawa Agimat Tattoo Festival Tattoos

Market : ...

Even though it has no slot, the effects are quite strong: you get a 7% ATK bonus (1% more than PoM) and 10% ASPD. A well-spent investment if the only thing you lack is ASPD.
Physical Enhancer Ring [1] Geffen Magic Tournament

Market : ...

One of the strongest accessories, but not exactly the best for Spiral. Could go from 40M with bad enchants, to... 1B with godly enchants. It gives by default ATK+5%, and it should be pretty simple to get "correct" enchantments on it, making it a better choice than Pendant of Maelstrom damage-wise. Try to get 2 ATK% enchants on each ring.

The enchants that will be useful for the Spiral RK, are the ASPD, Expert Archer and the Drain modules.
Sarah's Left Earring

Sarah's Right Earring

Sarah and Fenrir Another slot-less accessory which is quite popular because it's the best spam-enabler accessory since you can reach up to 10% ACD reduction and I highly recommend getting the perfect enchant as it's not very hard. It is account-bound so you'll have to make them yourself.
Expert Ring [1] Ragged Zombie or Prison Breaker

Market : ...

A very budget choice compared to Sarah Earrings, that gives half the performance but allows you to put a card on the accessory. The only downside is the SP consumption increase.
Broken Chip 1 [1]

Broken Chip 2 [1]

Last Room

Market : ... ...

They used to be a no-brainer back when bragi gave 100% ACD reduction because getting the 2 accessories give you +12 STR and +12 INT, and they're slotted, making them the best accessories for reducing VCT. Now it's a little more delicate as we have to get ACD as well since Bragi got nerfed, it now depends on how much ACD you've already got.
Card Gold Scaraba Card Gold Scaraba

Market : ...

This is the second card that gives the most flat ATK on the accessory slot (Gigantes gives the double).
Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Card and Shotgun Buffalo Bandit Card Revolver Buffalo Bandit Shotgun Buffalo Bandit

Market : ...

The combo of the 2 Buffalo cards will help improving your ASPD as well as getting a bit more damage with their great +7% ATK and +7 AGI.

Leveling

This is the usual routine I go through when making a new character. I think trying out the instances, if you have the possibility to do so with friends or a guild, is a better way to enjoy the game than simply grinding mindlessly the Gramps maps. Do not switch directly to 3rd class. Please do not forget that going down the rebirth path is required for the Critical build and simply too good to be avoided anyway, here's why.

Lv 1 - Lv 99

The easiest way to level up as a Swordsman/Knight, is to go down the AGI path. Make sure you level first your STR and your DEX to 50, then increase your AGI to 90. When you're finished with AGI, get your DEX to 70 and max your STR and AGI.

  • Lv 1+
    • First thing to do if you haven't done the tutorial: Go kill some Porings in Hidden Dungeon to get Job Lv 10 and switch to Swordsman, then start grinding at Payon Cave. It is advised that you use your Novice Potions here if you got any, because your HP pool is very low at the beginning; Red Potions will do in case you didn't do the tutorial. Since the Renewal update the Zombies are much weaker so kill them first to get a few levels. Once you get around level 10-15, start killing the Skeletons and the other monsters.
  • Lv 26+
    • When you think you're doing fine at Lv 1 of the dungeon and the pace is getting slower, go straight to Lv 2. The skeletons are now much weaker compared to their old self years ago in Pre-Renewal.
  • Lv 45+
    • At this level I usually go to Orc Dungeon and kill groups of Orc Zombies with AoE skills. If you want to grind faster, you may use Fire Elemental Converters since the monsters here are weak against Fire. It'll be also useful later at Glast Heim, where you'll be hunting Evil Druids and Wraiths. If you're between level 50 and 59, you can try the Eden quests for the Orcs if you want to get a free leveling bonus in Orc Dungeon: Go to Eden, talk to Secretary Lime Evenor to register, then you can ask Instructor Boya to test you, you should get the Orc Dungeon quest. Don't forget talk to the Eden Group Member outside of Orc Dungeon before you start hunting Orc Zombies and Orc Skeletons. When you've completed them, report to the Eden Group Member then to Instructor Boya. Since you passed the test, you'll have access to some special equipments for beginners, available by talking to Administrator Michael in the equipment storage room. If there' something you don't understand, you should check out the Eden Group wiki page.
  • Lv 70-79
    • Here we'll keep doing the Eden quests since they give out nice EXP, and you get access to better items: Instructor Ur's Eden Equipment Quest at Glast Heim. I recommend here that you also get the Hunting Board Quests for both Evil Druid and Wraith. This way you kill 2 birds with one stone, or rather you earn twice EXP with one hunt.
Talk to the Eden Group Member outside of Glast Heim Churchyard before you start hunting Wraiths and Evil Druids. Watch out for Mimics there since they're quite nasty and will easily kill you if you aren't prepared. Most players do this quest too while leveling, so do not hesitate to ask other players if they want to team up, it'll make your hunting quest faster and safer. Also do not forget that you have to kill 20 Wraiths first, talk to Johan, then you can kill the Evil Druids. You may then talk to Johan again, then go see Instructor Ur and Administrator Michael to get your rewards.
  • Lv 85+
    • Level 85 is the minimum level required to join the first bracket of the Gramps quests. Gramps quests are usually rotated at the start of every month, so try to end your quest before that. It is highly recommended that you do the Gramps quests whenever you can if you want to level as fast as possible. Once per day is already good enough but if you want to tryhard even further, the cooldown resets after 4 hours once you've turned in the quest (you can still go back in Gramps' map and grind without the quest). You can stay here until level 115 (the other Gramps map) if you want.
  • Lv 99
    • This is where it gets really important: if you want to "skip" the transcendent 2nd leveling phase, you can do a simple trick that consists of doing high-level quests when you're at level 99, and get the experience rewards only after rebirthing to level 1. This is what I usually do :
      • Get level 99 at Gramps 85+, but I do not turn in the two 400-monsters hunting quests.
      • Do Cautious Village and stop before the king's reward (Watch on the link where you get the EXP and stop doing the quest before getting it, where you stop isn't really important).
      • Rebirth, then kill some Porings to switch to High Swordsman.
      • Turn in Cautious Village, you should get around Base Level 70 and Job Level 50, you can then change to Lord Knight.
      • After becoming Lord Knight, go turn in the Gramps quests at Eden, you should be somewhere close to 98/69. You can then finish your levels at Gramps 85+, or go to Rock Ridge and go east to kill the cowboy buffalos; the Shotgun Buffalo gives like triple the job exp of the other monsters, so focusing them will make your last levels faster. You're finally 99/70 ? Congratz ! You can go to the Main Office and become a Rune Knight. Do not worry about your level progression bar not reappearing, it's just a visual bug; you can disconnect and reconnect to make it appear again.

Lv 100+

Once you become a Rune Knight, your primary goal should be to get Ignition Break as soon as possible, because it's your best AoE skill and it will help a TON for leveling. Also, don't forget that you can use Battle Manuals to get a big increase on board quests and Gramps quests.

  • Lv 100
    • At this level I always do the Rock Ridge main quest Fistful of Zeny. It gives enough exp to get your first skill points, you get a free accessory good enough for beginners, and it's pretty easy to do. You may also do the daily quests for quick EXP everyday.
    • Once you finished Rock Ridge, you can start doing the Banquet for Heroes quests. You only need to walk and talk to NPCs until you get to Room of Consciousness. This quest which contain an instance, will be too hard for you even though it's available at lvl 100; you need to ask for help from someone strong enough to solo it on #lfg. Once you've finished these, you may do the Royal Families quests and the dailies if you're still not 115. Another possibility is grinding at the ruins of Juperos, the dungeon is full of Venatus; you can start training your kiting skills here with Ignition Break, as they are quite unforgiving in mob trains since they are so many in there. It is recommended that you stay with the Neutral element as the Venatus have different elemental properties, depending on their color.
  • Lv 115+
    • When you get level 115, you can join the 2nd Gramps map and do the 400 mobs quests again there. If you want to get quickly to the 145+ Gramps tier, try getting an HE Battle Manual as it triples the EXP you earn; it only lasts 15 minutes so try to use it near the end of your 115+ Gramps run.
    • If you're not satisfied with Gramps, you can always go back to Juperos. If the Venatus do not give much EXP anymore, you can try out Rachel Sanctuary with the Vanberks and Isillas. They're easier to kite than Venatus since they're much slower so you shouldn't have too much trouble there. Your only doom here is the Hodremlin, it bites hard; try to avoid it or take more distance between the mob train and yourself so you can have some time to kill the Hodremlin.
  • Lv 145+
    • Level range to join the third bracket of Gramps quests. The third map of Gramps should be pretty fast as there is usually a level max doing the map for one of his characters or friends in the team.
    • You may also join the Charleston Crisis teams who run quite often the instance, to start farming up some items for your stuff (if you plan on getting an Excellion Suit) or to get money, while increasing your levels.
  • Lv 160+
    • At this level, you're pretty close to the max level (175), and you'll be able to join all the instances without prerequisite. Running them is a quick way to get the max level, as well as starting to farm for your items. What I usually do here, is run Room of Consciousness, Nightmarish Jitterbug, Charleston Crisis, Ghost Palace, Old Glast Heim Normal. If you cannot get into an instance team, go back to Gramps' 3rd level.
  • Lv 175
    • You did it ! Finally you're level 175, I'm proud of you grasshopper :>. It is now time to farm your stuff, and join bigger instances like Bios Island, Morse Cave, Temple of the Demon God, Old Glast Heim Hard... The rest is up to you ! If there are things you still don't understand or need more information, feel free to PM me on Discord (my ID is at the top of the guide).
  • Lv 175+
    • If you are well-stuffed, you can try accessing the endgame PvM contents such as Magma Dungeon F3, Abyss Glast Heim, Gramps 175+... But for these, people usually search for specific classes that can clear it easily, and RK is not considered one of them. I'd recommend joining AGH, Illusion of Luanda or Gramps 175+ teams, and please only do that once you're stuffed, getting past level 175 is not needed for most contents and is made to be HARD on the players. Another slower way is to keep on doing instances, because they usually reward you a nice amount of EXP either when you clear them or when you kill the MvP. If you are well-geared, you can try taking on AGH or Illusion of Luanda (and its quests), they give quite the exp (especially Luanda).
